Almost exactly this. Just switch Cal and UCLA in the first sentence.

And this. Even though UCLA is like a surprise windfall, I was aiming for Cal all this time and want the sweet, sweet, validation that comes with their acceptance. It’s been a long time coming and Friday can’t get here soon enough!

Read this in a few pages about people missing prereqs. I think the pre reqs are REALLY important for cal and ucla. I don’t want to burst anyones hope but I think if you got rejected from LA because of lack of pre reqs, cal will most likely do that same…

Anyone planning to appeal if they get rejected? I have an idea about how mine could work, with a couple letters of recommendation. I might have some compelling stuff to add, that I left out of the application due to space, but not sure what kind of information they are looking for exactly. The chances are pretty slim for appeals, though, like less than 5%, so I’m not putting too much hope into it.

@BunnyChan: I don’t think getting an email for scholarship is a good indicator. I got invitations for Regents and Alumni Scholarship from UCLA but I still got rejected. Luckily, I did not waste time filling the forms because I knew I would get rejected.

Those accepted will likely get welcoming phone calls Sunday (3-6pm), Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (all 5-8pm). Good luck fellow CCers. Was in this position 2 years ago, anxiously waiting for decisions.

I can’t believe the day I’ve been waiting for over the last couple of months is tomorrow! My heart will be pounding out of my chest when I’ll log onto CC, see that people have been accepted/rejected, and then go on to check my own status. I sorta calmed down at the beginning of this week, but now I’m a nervous wreck again. Why must the school I want the most be the hardest for me to get into?!
Has anyone called Cal to find out the exact time of their admissions release?

We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a MyFinAid account. You will need your CalNet ID to access MyFinAid."

it was a longer email but the point it, i cant log in becasue i do not have a Cal Net ID… should i have this? did you all get an email with your calnet id at some point? i applied to 10 schools and can not remember getting an email from Berkeley with this information… but i could have just missed it.

Oh you don’t have a cal id unless you were a student. I created a cal id for summer sessions last year and cal deactivated it because I was not a student anymore until now.

oooh ok, so i have to wait until i am officially a student? weird that they would send that out before the actual decisions… hopefully it foreshadows an acceptance!

I got the e-mail, too – did they send it out to everyone? I didn’t get into UCLA so I just figured that CAL was completely out of my league, now this e-mail has me going crazy, haha

Holy *****, I got the email. I at least want to get in to Berkeley since I’ve been rejected by UCLA. I’m not sure I’d go, but still.
