i also think pino just REALLY loves the fact he doesnt have to go off campus. lol, whatever floats your boat i say.

ahhh guys its day after tomoro! time actually didnt go by as sloooww as i thought it would. for some reason, it felt like ucla was the UC that took forever and a lifetime to come out.
thank mrs. fields for set dates. and yes, my idea of god is the mother of all cookies.

lol I applied to Cal just for ****s and giggles; my heart has been set on UCLA since senior year of high school. I’m just holding off on SIR’ing to UCLA until Berkeley rejects me.

And when they do…I won’t even be mad. 'cause I’m a Bruin.

haha redo, yeah he really must love the fact that he doesnt need to go off campus. nice to know you have ambition there pinoiako, especially since the school youre going to is so amazing according to what youve read online or heard from friends. i hope you haven’t disregarded the fact that berkeley has a joint medical program with ucsf - which according to another one of those online ranking sites - is the best public medical school in the nation.

p.s. pinoiako thanks for applying to Cal for “fun and giggles only”…it won’t exactly be “fun and giggles only” when someone who has dreamed about berkeley gets rejected because a space was offered to you.

“I plan to be a research neuropsychologist.”

LAW: The more random academic-sounding terms you combine (research, neuro-, psychologist, etc.) without demonstrating knowledge of what they involve, the stupider you look to people who know what they’re talking about.

^ diddo. i was disappointed for about 10 seconds after getting rejected from LA. now i literally can’t sleep knowing that decisions will be out the day after tomorrow! ='(

I got into UCLA but got rejected from Davis. That seems to indicate, to me, that there was something to like about me other than my grades (my GPA is only ~3.40). Since Berkeley has a more holistic review process than UCLA, I’m really hoping that I have a good chance with them as well. I have great grade trends (two years straight of nothing but As after a rocky year) and have demonstrated great interest in my major, which has around a 60% acceptance rate for my GPA range already.
But every time I think about Friday I start having a little panic attack. If Cal rejects me, I’m going to have to choose between living with my fianc

dimitry- UCLA also looks at grade trends as well because in my very first semester in college, I got 2 B’s, 1 C and 1 A in the fall of 2007. Since then, 4.0’s all the way. I got into UCLA.

However, I agree with you that Berkeley’s review for applications is a bit more holistic than UCLA.

I’ve heard that the decisions are being released at either 12AM or 12PM. o: Not sure if this is true or not… Hahaha.

Also I’ve heard that those who got an email for the CAA scholarship are those who are heavily being considered for admission! I know quite a few people who would appear to be accepted by Berkeley that received the scholarship email even though they aren’t in need of scholarships. Can anyone confirm if this is true? The friend that told me about this supposedly heard it from a Berkeley rep.

It would make sense though. Why would schools offer scholarships to those who aren’t even being considered? Apparently UCLA sent out a scholarship email a week or so before decisions were posted according to a friend of mine who had gotten accepted.
I on the other hand got rejected and never received this scholarship email.
