*Official UC Berkeley 2011 Transfer: Acceptance/Rejection Thread*

I also do not want to get my hopes up but I did get the financial aid award email at 8am today April 28th 2011. I hope it means what I think it means!!!

Can someone post a link to last year’s Berkeley thread?

Edit: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/920298-out-all-people-who-got-ucb-financial-aid-e-mail.html</a></p>

Looks like of that small sample, everyone who got the email got in, but a lot of people who didn’t get the email got in as well.

According to my friend who goes to Berkeley the financial aid email is a very good sign you’ve gotten in.

received no FA emails here. FAFSA filed in February.
idk what to think.

if you didn’t get the e-mail i wouldn’t worry. there are a good number of people from last year who got in but still didn’t get the e-mail. still looking through it to see if anyone got the email but still got rejected…

source: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/920010-official-2010-uc-berkeley-transfers-acceptance-rejection-thread.html</a></p>

@nick: I was about to say the same thing. So basically, I think getting the email can be a potentially good thing but not getting the email is NOT indicative of rejection. Kinda similar to ursa I guess in that regard.

Someone got into HAAS last year with a 4.0 and didn’t get an email so I’m not worrying anymore!
To people who got the email, enjoy your sanity for the next 30 hours!

thanks @cherry. did you get the email/file for FAFSA btw?

@Naniwa

I actually think URSA was pretty indicative of acceptance and rejection. While plenty of people didn’t have financial aid in URSA a week before decisions and still got in, I can’t think of any students who didn’t have it the day before and still got accepted.

That said, based on last year, plenty of people who didn’t get the email will still get in. I’ve yet to find anyone who got the email, but didn’t get in.

Not getting the email does NOT mean you won’t get in.

If you didn’t apply for FA you won’t get the email.

I think even if you did apply for FA and didn’t get the email, you still could be accepted. My guess is they worked out the FA for people who need it the most. This guess is only based on how much FA I would get from Davis or LA. I get a good amount so I’m guessing they process the students FA who need it the most first.

mytime - i did. both of them. which were the same exact thing…did anyone get two completely different e-mails? i’m not getting too excited yet though …i don’t want to jinx it as stupid as that sounds…lol

Got two emails as well at 741 and 748. Can anyone access the FA award? Or do we have to be admitted to get a CalNet ID?

^also guessing this because I got the Davis FA email early as well. Didn’t try any of the UCLA tricks so not sure if my FA showed anything before acceptances.

I don’t think we can access the award because we don’t have a CalNet ID, which I think is available in the acceptance letter.

aww well i think that’s a good sign for u cherry! =]

I can access my fin aid but I have a reactivated calnet id ;)

@nick: did you get the email?

@nero103

How does your offer compare to what other UCs offered (gift aid is what I’m most interested in). Are they giving you $1,000 more? $2,000 less?

@Naniwa

Yes! I’m very excited, after being rejected from UCLA.

Neo, what message did you get when your account was deactivated? I’m not sure if mine is or not or if I have the wrong ID/pass. (took past summer classes also)

pretty much the same everywhere
