*Official UC Berkeley 2011 Transfer: Acceptance/Rejection Thread*

@nero103 so can u see anything there that might indicate u got in?

For all those worried about not being accepted because of too many hours, my sister was accepted two years ago with 95 units.

cal deactivated my account on 12/31/2010 or sometime in that ballpark. it was like six months after end of summer session.

nah, I can only access bearfacts. I don’t have the permission to access calmail, telebears, or bspace. I guess you need to SIR to get that.

How do I know if my account is deactivated still…? I’m not sure what my ID/word was so I’m not sure if mine is still deactivated or if I’ve just got the wrong combos.

sent to me today for a second time! I have NOT been accepted yet.

Dear __________,

We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a MyFinAid account. You will need your CalNet ID to access MyFinAid.

Throughout the year, MyFinAid is where you will find updates to your financial aid award summary, as well as messages from us about payment status, any changes in your eligibility, and any financial aid requirements, such as forms we may need you to submit. MyFinAid is your primary source of information about updates to your financial aid package. We recommend that you check MyFinAid regularly.

We also recommend that, for your records, you save an electronic copy or print a paper copy of the MyFinAid Award Details page any time there is a change. Keeping a record of the awards you have received will help you in the future when you apply to programs beyond your first college degree. For example, many master’s and doctoral programs require undergraduate financial aid information as part of the graduate financial aid application process.

Another helpful resource to check regularly is the Financial Aid and Scholarships website at [UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office](http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/). Our website contains information that all financial aid recipients need to know and is updated regularly.

If you have questions, please do not reply to this email; the email address from which this message was sent is unmonitored. Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at:
Telephone: (510) 642-6442, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday
Email: fao_ugr@berkeley.edu
Sincerely,
Financial Aid and Scholarships Office Staff

I think they deactivate all summer students’ accounts. For example, one could only order transcripts over some special website so you do not need a calnet account to order transcripts.
IMO, a good indicator is the reactivation of your calnet account.

I am so incredibly stressed out about all of this. I can’t eat or sleep or concentrate in class. I want to get into UCB so badly. I was rejected by UCLA but it was a long shot because i applied for the Comm major and my GPA is only 3.61 :frowning: I just looked over my application and it just seems SO crap. I will be devastated if i don’t get in to Berkeley. I got into my last choice back up school by default simply because i’m an international student with a gpa above 3.5 :frowning: :frowning: :-(

@nick: nice!! I really hope you get in after being rejected by UCLA. Cal is your #2 right?

mdia: What time was that email sent?

first message sent at 8:15am second one at 9am. the same email!

It’s my number two by default, if that makes sense. I’ll have to give up my job if I go to Berkeley (though it’d only be one day a week anyway), and I think I’d fit in a bit better at SD or LA.

Trouble is, it’s really tough to turn down one of the best universities in the world for UCSD. SD is very good, but is definitely a step down from Berkeley.

@mdia3344: Just check my email. I got sent two emails too. One at 7:42am and the other at 7:49am. Don’t have time to read them yet, but I suspect they say the same thing.

Wonder why two emails were sent. Perhaps its just a glitch in the system.

I think it is a glitch or something since everyone apparently got two of the same emails.

I’m not trying to make waves here but I just spoke to another friend of mine who is a UCB graduate and he said if you got the email you got in. He said they never send financial aid info to those who will be rejected. which means I GOT IN! HOLY CRAP!!

GPA is low: 3.37
But I am an older student, 30 years old, and have published two books (on gender and sexuality).
Still, I cannot believe I got in!!!

Didn’t everyone who applied for financial aid received that e-mail ?

Nope. Looks like some people who applied this year haven’t received it (yet?). Last year a lot of people didn’t receive it but were accepted anyway.

Just to be safe, I would just wait until tomorrow before starting to celebrate. Its only one more day…

Getting the e-mail was something nice to get in the morning. Funny thing is that just two years ago I would have cried tears of joy if I had gotten into Cal, now I’m definitely choosing UCLA over it. Weird how life plays out.

mdia - your grad friend isn’t exactly the most reliable source. unless hes an admin officer i’d probably wait until i begin to celebrate…
