*Official UC Berkeley 2011 Transfer: Acceptance/Rejection Thread*

@mdia: why did you say you have a 3.8 in the UCD thread? :/

eyethink - they’re completely different schools too…what made you change your mind?

lol naniwa! i was JUST about to ask him that!

I know people are saying that one must be a student before they can get a CalNetID.

But here’s the link to create one…in case anyone wanted to try: https://net-auth.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/krbcpw?NewStudent

Well, it doesn’t look good for me as I didn’t get any emails. Also, I applied to FA and my family has an income of four digits. Feeling a little nauseated, ugh.

@cherryvaseline

I don’t think we have student IDs yet, do we? We log into MyBerkeleyApp with our UC Application ID.

Wait, are we supposed to make a CalNet ID now? :(

Interesting, I get an error message when I try to log in with what I think is my correct Calnet ID from my summer school session. I also did not receive an email, but I didn’t apply for financial aid. I should be an automatic in though, because I did the Bobcat to Bear guarantee transfer program (UCM-UCB).

Guess I’ll just wait another day to find out for sure. Good luck to everyone else.

^No. I’m 95% sure we can’t.

In freshmen forum, there is a thread insisting that if we can search our name on Berkeley’s directory, we’re in. But when I put my name, it didn’t show my name :frowning: haha

lol berkeleyphil. i saw a similar thread for transfer students. some people who got accepted weren’t able to see their names. i think that only applied to freshman applicants.

yeah regarding the calnetID thing, nick scheu is probably right - i just figured i put it up there, in case something interesting popped up for anyone.

Regents and a full ride to UCLA. Also Comm. Studies appears to be much more robust than Media Studies at Cal. The Comm. Studies department is essentially a feeder to Hollywood. I’m not keen on Hollywood types but working in the film industry is one of three places I see myself having a career in.

My mom’s pharmacy is also 15 minutes from there so the thought of having time to see my mom everyday would be awesome. We’ve been apart for much too long since I currently reside in NorCal.

I love Berkeley much more than Westwood though. But we’ll see. A professor whom I am very close to will be contacting some friends that work for UCLA to provide me with the “real tour.” LOL.

Did I say 3.8? I’m def not 3.8! Was an accident. I know speaking to 2 Berkeley grads isn’t foolproof evidence but I personally don’t think they are wrong.

lol the real tour? hmm, wonder what that entails…

Congrats on getting Regents! Yeah, that’s definitely a great reason to be at UCLA…especially since you’ll be close to your mom. Doesn’t mean you can’t still visit Berkeley! Best of luck to you.

I received the e-mail, but don’t expect to be accepted unless they have a TRUELY hollistic admissions process… and some people who have received the e-mail and posted in this thread don’t seem like the typical admit from stats alone… ehhh…

So… e-mail may mean nothing

DID ANYONE GET A

Financial Aid: Offer Now Available on MyFinAid

EMAIL from berkeley today at 8:53AM? IS THAT A GOOD SIGN? it says…

Dear ____________,

We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu. Every student receiving financial aid at UC Berkeley has a MyFinAid account. You will need your CalNet ID to access MyFinAid.

Throughout the year, MyFinAid is where you will find updates to your financial aid award summary, as well as messages from us about payment status, any changes in your eligibility, and any financial aid requirements, such as forms we may need you to submit. MyFinAid is your primary source of information about updates to your financial aid package. We recommend that you check MyFinAid regularly.

We also recommend that, for your records, you save an electronic copy or print a paper copy of the MyFinAid Award Details page any time there is a change. Keeping a record of the awards you have received will help you in the future when you apply to programs beyond your first college degree. For example, many master’s and doctoral programs require undergraduate financial aid information as part of the graduate financial aid application process.

Another helpful resource to check regularly is the Financial Aid and Scholarships website at [UC Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office](http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/). Our website contains information that all financial aid recipients need to know and is updated regularly.

If you have questions, please do not reply to this email; the email address from which this message was sent is unmonitored. Contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office at:
Telephone: (510) 642-6442, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Sincerely,
Financial Aid and Scholarships Office Staff

@Pessimistic

Great name choice.

did anyone else here try to contact the FA office to find out their response to this? I just got off the phone with a very rude FA assistant…“It could have been a mistake, We have errors all the time, so I suggest you wait until you’re officially admitted until you find out what you were awarded.”

^ lol @ nick, yeah sounds pretty appropriate right?

^nick_scheu

Hahaha…

Thanks cherryvaseline!

@impatientkh: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD read the thread.
