@ Pinoiako916, I actually want to use it for writing and go on for an MFA at UCLA TFT for Screenwriting. I was an English major at first, but then fell in love with Psych. Once I’m deep into it, I may continue with that… I’m open to seeing what it’s all about.
What is your major?

@redoplease - I just read a lot of it. The outcome was that if you got the 2 financial aid emails, you are probably IN! If you didn’t, you may still be IN…
I don’t know what the verification email is yet.

Guys, can someone tell me how to create a login/ check if you got the emails?

back then I was, but at least I am happy with UCLA. I actually visited the LA campus last summer and I really liked it. I was torn between ucla and berk for a long time but I am choosing UCLA.

I received the 2 duplicate emails.

could someone tell me what the verification email said?

^ redo - getting the 2 emails was probably a good sign…not getting them was not a bad sign. as far as the verification e-mails…not enough information on this based on last year’s threads…so its probably not an indication of anything

cjenniferc- neuropsychology.

@redo

I have not been able to find a single example of a 2010 student who received the emails and then was rejected. I was able to find many examples of 2010 students who did not receive the emails, but were accepted.

Cal Financial Aid is claiming that the emails were sent to every student who filed a FAFSA. This makes zero sense. For one thing, several students here have reported filing FAFSAs but not receiving emails. For another, why would they be dealing with denied students so late in the game? If this was February the story might be plausible. The day before decisions, I don’t buy it.

So, I think the consensus is this: Emails are a very strong indication that you’ve been admitted. Not receiving emails means nothing. There may be a (very) small number of students who receive the emails but are ultimately rejected; this has not occurred in past years as far as we can tell.

cherryvaseline- it is kinda like how for UCLA some people got financial aid info posted on their URSA, emails for scholarships and the phone call for that as well, and still got denied.

thanks cjenniferc, nick and cherryvaseline!!!
im like ****ting my pants
and wacker, with that font, i cant not tell you.

Below is from UC Irvine- keep in mind they DID NOT accept me but still asked for Fin. Aid documents:

Dear ___________:

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships would like to alert you to new information regarding your 2011-12 financial aid application.

WE MAY NEED ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS or information to complete the review of your financial aid application. You must log into your financial aid file on our website to view documents that have been received and the status of your application:

----------------Now this is what I received TODAY from UC Berkeley---------

ITS THE SAME! WHICH MEANS THESE EMAILS DO NOT MEAN ANYTHING.

@redoplease:

I got that email too! I tried calling them, hoping I could convince them to make me a CalNET ID early so I could see what it says … but they told me to wait until tomorrow.

@mdia

When did you receive the Irvine email?

Of all the UCs, honestly Berkeley seems the most organized in these matters. All the rest just feel like a cluster, to me anyway.

Why would UCI ask me for Financial Aid documents and then reject me? Seems like admissions and fin aid do not really sync up with each other. One can assume Berkeley is the same way…

Berkeley, if I’m admitted. :-(

Just my luck. I get denied from my first choice, only to be admitted to my higher-ranked second choice. ■■■.

@redo,

Thank you very much. I didn’t get that one. Just the other two. Now I am done worrying about this today.
I actually kind of hope that I get rejected by Cal, because I don’t want to have to choose between Cal and UCLA. Then again, I kind of do…
What is wrong with me? I am so confused that I don’t even know what I want!!!

/thread

Where do you guys get these emails? At your personal emails? Or do you have to login on calnet?

I got the UCI email Feb 18th and the rejection two weeks ago.
