Mine was in my personal email account. It gets sent to whichever one you put on your UC app. You can log in to the admissions website, and your contact info is listed at the top. They will send it to the email listed there.

nick - sorry to hear you were rejected from your first - was that UCLA? To be honest, I didn’t even bother applying to UCLA…figured I didn’t have a chance.

@mdia

On the Irvine thing… That’s my point. It was sent in February, before decisions had been made. Do you really think that Berkeley’s decisions aren’t at least 95% done by today? And that Admissions wouldn’t have at least given a list of rejections to Financial Aid so they who not to spend any time on?

If these emails were sent a few months ago you’d have a point. But I think it’s too much of a coincidence that they came out the day before decisions do.

Yes, UCLA. My only rejection so far, and Berkeley is the only school for which I haven’t received a decision.

@ mdia - weren’t you just celebrating your acceptance because your friend said they were strong indicators of acceptance?

@ pinoiako - no, its not really the same thing since each the FA offices of each UC do and process things differently. the scholarship thing and phone call were never debated to be indicators because they really weren’t. but it was also an anomaly when someone didn’t get in after being able to see their FA status on ursa.

as far as the verification e-mail, i have seen people get rejected from Cal after receiving an e-mail like this…so it’s not an indicator of anything. on the other hand, i haven’t heard of one person who did not get in after receiving the first two e-mails.

I was celebrating but then had to take a step back and realize these emails COULD mean nothing. I see what you’re saying about the UCI letter being sent way back in Feb.

I was just thinking – that would be so damn CRUEL to get an email like the ones we are all talking about the DAY BEFORE they give out accept/reject info.

The first paragraph says:
We have recently created your 2011-12 financial aid offer. You can view your financial aid awards and any messages we may have for you on MyFinAid at https://myfinaid.berkeley.edu.

So, you “created” my aid offer? Or is this a hoax?! Which is it!!

Yeah. If the email said, “This is to notify you that we have received your financial aid application and will be reviewing it soon,” the ‘means nothing’ theory would make more sense.

The email says the offer is “created”–that is, they spent the time to create an offer, it’s done, and it’s ready to be reviewed. Why do all that for students who will ultimately be rejected?

Nick - I wanna believe it so badly!

lol nick i’m guna have to agree with you.

alas, i’m off to have a late lunch with my boyfriend! i’ll just have to lurk this thread later hehe

sooooo… consensus is that decisions are out tomorrow afternoon? or midnight tonight? or some other time?

I didn’t get an email… o well

enzino: The site says the evening of the 29th. So I’d guess the evening of the 29th (5 PM seems to be a common time) no matter what time they came out last year (3 PM).

MyBerkeleyApp originally said decisions would be out at 12 noon, then it changed to the evening. I’d guess they’re shooting for noon.

AAW000 - seems like the trend is if you get the e-mails you’re in (dunno for sure but that’s what it seems like) and if you don’t get the e-mails it’s a flip of the coin. Exploring the other forums you can see that a lot of people who didn’t get the e-mails still got in… so far no sign of someone getting the e-mails being rejected. Hope it’s true!

thx dmitry.

any chance you’re a russkiy?

@AAAW000, what are your stats?

Did anyone read the other thread of last years email situation?? was there anyone that signed up for FASFA that got in but didnt get the email??? maybe there’s still hope:/

@jenniferx

if you read any other posts here i think it’s been stated about twenty times that a lot of people who didn’t get the email still got in.

sorry to be rude but i’m really sick of people asking the same question over and over again on these forums.

this is really turning into the UCLA thread hahah

Two Berkeley admissions officers (Ken and Gigi) told me that transfer decisions will be released after 4pm tomorrow.

!!!

^ ask them about the email!!

Can anyone tell me if its easier to get into Berk. from UC Davis or UC Santa Barbara or UT Austin? I got to make a decision fast and would appreciate any help!
