*Official UC Berkeley 2011 Transfer: Acceptance/Rejection Thread*

I’m a 4.0 Pol Sci major and I got the duplicate emails. My EC’s are ok (volunteering plus I’m an Eagle Scout).

^^^ I’m not sure if this mean ANYTHING. I called a friend who has a decent gpa (I don’t know what it is exactly), she did not get an email.

I did not get such email… :frowning: I’m really scared people.

Business Admin major
3.89 GPA (4.0 major)
volunteer and work experience

my friend did not get the email either, same major 3.92 GPA

again, we are bus admin majors, Haas is quite competitive!

Any Haas transfer got the e-mail?

TWO Options here guys:

1) Wait another 24 hours and stop wasting brain power trying to figure it out OR
2) Everyone who got the email and applied to FAFSA, list your stats. Everyone who DIDN’T get the email and applied for FAFSA, list your stats. Everyone else who applied, well, it’s not relevant to this situation. Then, we can compare or try to find a pattern!

NO DICE WITH NO DATA!

^^^ waste of time…just wait patiently until tomorrow.

I didn’t get the email. Applied for FAFSA.

Applied to HAAS (Business Admin)
3.5 GPA (3.8 MAJOR)
Lots of volunteer and work experience

Maybe individual schools like Haas, Law, etc. didn’t receive these emails?

Didn’t get it, 3.4 Econ lol

I don’t even know why I applied lol…

I got the emails. 3.93 GPA (one B in non major course). My ECs are very strong. MCB major

Is Cal super competitive for psych? I can’t fine a mean admitted Gpa anywhere…

3.69 gender studies

didn’t get the email - but I only fixed the tax info on my fafsa about a week ago. never got the financial aid hacks for ucla either but i got in.

edit: strong ec’s, strong upward grade trend.

^^^ last I heard it was 3.7ish but not sure if that’s true.

cactusbass- did you get into UCLA psych? What is your gpa and stats.

I got into UCLA psych with a 3.84 gpa, no TAP.

@l08liang. I applied to Haas and got the emails.

^FoggyFuture

What are your stats?

cactussbass - psychology is a capped major at Cal…meaning the major is in high demand, while they could only provide a space to a limited number of people for the major.

i wonder what this day would have been like without the emails…pleasant? enjoyable? quick?

berkeley, if you admit me, and admit me for fall, i will be the greatest alumni ever and donate tons of money.

lolbribelol

@redo

"berkeley, if you admit me, and admit me for fall, i will be the greatest alumni ever and donate tons of money. "

Shoulda wrote that in your “additional comments” section of the app =]

redoplease-hahahahahahahaha

I got the email.
I’m a Physics Major with strong grades and EC’s.
I think it is a legit sign.

I received the email but I really don’t want to get my hopes up and I didn’t envision my chances as being very good. I would like details as to the past circumstances people faced.

I called the financial aid office and I asked them “does Berkeley create financial aid offers for people regardless of whether they have been admitted?” but the representative dodged the question and told me that the email was sent in error and that it is not indicative of whether or not one has been accepted. I proceeded to ask her if “the error was that the email was sent early or that the email was sent at all” and she said that the email was accidentally sent to all transfer applicants. So it is not indicative of admission status.

The discussion felt like she was trying to diplomatically avoid admitting that it meant I was admitted but her statements were clearly stating that the email meant nothing.

I’m still skeptical of the significance of the email.

This thread (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/1137595-e-mail-uc-berkeley-3.html</a>) has less posters but is quite helpful for understanding the email issue and there is a post that leads to 2010 threads where people claim that they received the email and got accepted. There weren’t any posts noted that reported getting the email and not getting accepted.

Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
