<p>One of my friends got accepted, but for Spring 2012, not Fall 2011. What do you think the reason for this is?</p>

<p>Decision: Accepted for Spring 2012, apparently because “our deferred admission is not a reflection on your academic or personal performance, but rather an indication of the size and rigor of our transfer applicant pool which numbered more than 16,000 this year.” Who knows. Can’t decide if I should wait or go to UCSB with practically full ride financial aid.</p>
<p>I was rejected from UCLA, for reference, by the way.</p>

<p>So I have a question. You know when we did the academic update and it asked if we wanted to use L&S Requirements or IGETC? Well, if I chose L&S but one of my requirements was not completed until this semester, would that make a difference? (IGETC was completed prior to this semester, but since part of that was with AP classes, I thought it would just be simpler to use L&S.)</p>
<p>I know this sounds awful, but I kind of don’t understand why I was rejected. 3.9 GPA (4.0 major), all pre-reqs complete, decent ECs (some of which include my field of study, some of which don’t), decent essays, and I had been admitted as a freshman two years ago. Plus my major is certainly not impacted. I am really sad. :(</p>
<p>@ eholla: That is so weird. Definitely call and ask why you were rejected. At the very least, appeal. You should have been admitted based on what you wrote above. Maybe they thought you were missing a prereq. Ask them about that whole L&S/IGETC business…that sounds like a probable mishap.</p>
<p>I’ve been a Stanford fan since I was little (stepmom worked for Stanford Athletic dept, so we had season tix to all games). Well, I guess my father and I will have to sit on opposite sides of the stadium for the Big Game from now on. Go Bears!</p>

<p>I honestly don’t know what else I could have done for Cal or UCLA to accept me, maybe have gotten a perfect 4.0? It looks like I will heading back east to go to NYU or Georgetown.</p>
