<p>Is anyone here a physics or bio major?
I have heard that for these majors, transfer students will only be accepted if they can complete the bachelors degree in 2 years after transferring. Is this true?</p>

<p>^^^ Generally, for any students, they want you out asap. I guess the case is stricter for transfer students. And don’t they only grant financial aid for 2 years anyway?</p>

<p>Okay, I just joined College Confidential because I cannot stop thinking about my Berkeley app. I’m a transfer student, and I’m freaking out because I can’t figure out for sure if I have too many units.</p>
<p>I have 36 quarter units from another university, and 91 semester units (about 60.6 quarter) from a city college. I know that Cal has an 80 unit limit.</p>
<p>Am I over their limit? I have 96.6 “quarter” units, but I don’t know how their system works when dealing with units from a four-year school versus units from a two-year school.</p>

<p>i’m pretty sure they look at your classes from your other four year on an individual basis. so they may articulate a majority of them, but then that would put you over the 80 unit limit - which is an auto-reject. if they dont articulate any of them, that means you wouldnt have enough units to transfer. </p>

<p>a >80 unit count does not mean auto reject if ALLLL the units were taken at a CCC. that’s the exception. They will also give you 70 units worth of credit but will clear all your class requirements that you took.</p>

<p>@avantpelt: I converted your 36 quarter units by multiplying it .667 and that equals to approximately 24 semester units. Looks like you are over the cap. Sorry.</p>
<p>Yeah if it’s a combo with 4 year uni, it’s probably an auto reject… How many units was taken at a 4 year uni? That’s just what it says according to their requirements. Decisions are out in 5 days!! Nothing there is to do about it. :D</p>

I applied to UCB as a Physics major. I’m not completely sure but aren’t engineer transfers the only transfers that are allowed to go beyond two years? I could be wrong, but I think I read that somewhere.</p>
<p>I don’t think they can force you to graduate, unless you’re hitting the unit cap.</p>

you will see it depends on which college you applied to. At L&S you can have up to 80 four year semester units and then transfer to a CC and get units. You will not be auto rejected for it.</p>

<p>i think theres just less madness here because berkeley actually gave a set date. and there are not too many “hack” ways per say.</p>
