There we go. I thought the transfer edge letter was the acceptance letter!
Yes, this was great. I loved it! UCLA’s packet last year was a bit overdone IMO
Has anybody heard back from Quincy Jones?
Yes, Quincy got back to my daughter a few days ago. But she also resent the email directly to him.
Oh good. I switch a spring class so I’m waiting to hear back before I SIR and I’m getting anxious about doing it.
is there any other transfer event besides just the chancellors welcome?
Does anyone know if we make a down payment for housing during the summer like UCLA (for Fall)? Is UCB as friendly when it comes to payments as UCLA?
I’m sure you do.
Anyone else having trouble submitting their SIR?
We just put the down pymt on housing. It’s 20 bucks, @FUTUREUCLABRUIN1
Lindy,
If we apply for UCB dorm/housing and get an offer from UCB, can we not accept the offer? This is in case I have already found an apartment off campus in the mean time.
Pls let me know.
Can you sign up for orientation already?
@FUTUREUCLABRUIN1 Yes, and you should do it right away to get the early date, which is around June 6 or so. Hmm, I’m not sure how my daughter did it. I think you just google “CalSo.” Now that is expensive- $210, plus $40 if you want o spend the night.
I think this is the site: http://calso.berkeley.edu/
@humbleteen, you never have to accept it. BTW, here is thr fine print:
“You’ll have five choices on your housing application, but be flexible in your options! Newly admitted students must indicate “any room size, any location” as a preference to ensure their housing guarantee is not voided. You can make the “any room size, any location” your fifth choice. Students who do not indicate “any room size, any location” jeopardize their housing guarantee.”
Which is OK as long as you don’t get put with freshmen, I guess. Although Clark Kerr is really expensive. That’s a potential drawback.
Hey guys,
What events are going on this coming weekend that are important to attend for transfer?
I’ve already RSVP’d to the chancellors welcome on Saturday but other than that what events for are happening?
@lindyk8 I can’t make up my mind. Everyday I switch between UCLA and UCB
@bmirza991 I’m not sure the exact events, but I signed up for Fly to Berkeley or something like that (didn’t get chosen) and I signed up for bridges Transfer Weekend (decisions come to tomorrow).
Accepted! (from LA city college)
Major gpa: 4.0
Overall gpa: 3.91
Major: Media Studies
Accepted: UCLA, UCB
Pending: USC
Giving up my spot because I want to stay in the LA area!
@lindyk8 - Thank you so much for your help. Cheers
@lindyk8 Do you know if any of the CalSo dates are full already?
I have no idea. I doubt it. We just went in and grabbed the first one, which was open. Personally, I feel it is the most friggen confusing system. Everything is on different sites, and they all look different. Billing is somewhere else. UCLA was all handled on one site, with housing, billing, classes all in tabs.
Ms Janet Napolitano should look at standardizing the IT systems at all the UC’s.It will save them a bunch of money and make the student’s life so much easier.
