I don’t know. Berkeley specifically said in my daughter’s contract she doesn’t have to submit high school, and I believe I saw somewhere that not all UCs require it. Some do 100% and some do at their discretion. Let me check. Either way, they told my daughter she didn’t have to submit.
@JustinUC Cal asked for my HS transcript as well, but as long as you fulfilled the conditions of admission that were specified when you were accepted, you’ll be fine. HS has no impact on your acceptance; the transcript is simply for their records.
This doesn’t apply to transfers, but I figured you all would think this to be interesting. UCB will now be taking two letters of recommendation from freshman applicants.
Got back from CalSO last night, took the Golden Bear Express up on Sunday June 7. When we checked in with the CalSO Guides at Housing Unit 3 they provided us with little backpacks that had our agenda of events, contact names and number and a good map, lavalier ID’s and vouchers for the first evening meal at Crossroads from 6 - 8 pm. Everything was delicious! Since we had just completed a 7 hour bus trip, lots of us sat together to eat, then most everyone hit the hay by 10-11pm, or stayed up in rooms getting to know their roommates. The next morning our IDs got us through the continental breakfast lines at Dwinelle Plaza on campus before we were welcomed at Wheeler Auditorium. From there the parents who had come left to do their thing and we started our orientation. Took the tour, awesome! Got all my classes. (When our poli sci advisors told us that despite the department reserving spots for incoming transfers, there would still be stiff competition for those spots, you could totally feel the atmosphere in the room change. It was hilarious.) Took the hike and the view at night was spectacular. Some other participants went restaurant hopping instead. Had breakfast Tuesday morning again at Crossroads, our ID’s again sufficed, all free. Then took the Express home again to SoCal.
@MaMoi77 my daughter said one of the perks of the overnight was check-in the day before and not having to wait in the long line she saw in the morning.
To those who can help,
If i want to apply for the political economy major in Cal & the economics major in UCLA, is it alright if i put my interest in my UC personal statement as an economics major?
For example, there is the environmental economics major in Cal too. Would putting economics as my main interest in my personal statement affect my chances to go into these majors that are not directly economics?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you!
@mugboy Yes, you do not have to list the major directly by name. Talk about passion for Econ and maybe throw in something about global (or related) - although that global part isn’t even needed.
@lindky8 Alright, thank you for the help! Can’t wait to do my transfer app! haha
has anybody sent their ap scores in yet? I haven’t logged in forever and can’t get onto the website for whatever reason.
I went to CalSO on June 8th as well (overnight stay too) and my experience was much different from @lindyk8 's daughter, so if anyone has any questions about the agenda or needs clarification about something let me know
do spring admits register/go to CalSo during the summer (what is currently taking place) or do they have their own dates closer to when they start in January? thank you to anyone who can help, the spring admit page is not very helpful!
@withtwowingss http://calso.berkeley.edu/c-sptransfer.html I believe we can register on 6/24 or 25, and attend the Calso on 11/9 which is stated on the website.
Can you tell me what other EC’s you did and how many honors classes you took? I’m planning to apply for UCB mathematics for 2016 Fall and my GPA is currently 3.7 but I didn’t do any EC, so I want to get some information about transfering to mathematics.

Hey Guys,
Did Berkeley get all your transcripts yet? I sent some in mid-May and my portal still says not received (IGETC Cert. & HS Diploma)
@NDN I sent in both my IGETC cert and HS transcript about a month ago, and I’m in the same situation as you. It’s due to the high volume of transcripts that they’re receiving right now.
@ndn or @CCCtransfer0613 where exactly is it on the portal where you can see if they got the transcripts and IGETC?
@lindyk8 It’s one of the items on the “checklist.”
Ah, easy peasy. Thx @CCCtransfer0613 !
Hey guys!
I just found out that I received a B in my Calc class! It’s official, I’m UC Berkeley Bound!! Thank you all for the support! See you Bears this fall!
