Official UCB Countdown

^ money talks… if not. there is always blackmail. and yes, they are done they have had those suckers four and a half months.

Northbeach: They sent out an email to financial aid recipients. :)

^ one must ask ‘have they learned from their mistakes?’ guess we will find out. that is pretty lame. haha.

i haven’t gotten that email for financial aid. when were they sent out, today(Sunday)?

I’m super excited to hear from Cal this week!! Only few more days!! Does anybody have any idea at what time they might release decisions?

@Akyahunter, judging from last years admission thread, they should be released around 4 PM PST.

@TedBell, I think PinkPoetry is messing around. I don’t think they’ve sent out any emails yet because: a) CC would be flooded with threads about the email and b) judging by last years threads, if they do send them out, it will be a few days before.

tedbell was just talking about some financial aid email phenomena that took place last year, not this year. so don’t fret anyone. this year there was the “discount flyer” phenomena instead i guess. all the many admissions blunders. friday is almost here dudes.

Thanks guys

4 more days 0.0

I’m ready. :]

heyy does anyone know where we can find the decision if Berkeley will release the offer of admission on Friday at 4pm. are they sending email ? or put on myBerkeley?

@paperhearts0 Yeah me too!! Good luck!

@joeypark
myberkeley, you know it! let’s hope it is good news for us all.

@Tredelta: Just curious, have you applied to Cal for Media Studies? (Fellow Communications Major)

@Postsecret: Unite! I did, and Berkeley happens to be my top choice. I’ll complete all the prerequisites listed for the major this semester (even Media Studies 10 - I got lucky, my community college is one of the handful that offer an equivalent course!), it just so happened that many of them overlapped with UCLA’s Communication Studies prerequisites so I two-birds-one-stone’d it and was admitted. :]

How about yourself?

Can anyone help me out a little here, On UC application, there is no winter section, I am just wondering, how did everyone submit their winter courses? I am getting a little bit paranoid because I took math 15 in winter at SMC and couldn’t find where to put it in the UC application, so I didn’t, but it’s the major pre-req course.

Rumors are that the UC Admissions do talk to each other. However, I know some people who got into UCSD, UCLA, and CAL even though I am told that if you don’t get into UCLA you have a higher chance of getting into CAL and vice versa. Same with the other UCs. They can’t accept everyone to every school they applied to because they know that some people have preference.

hi there, i am very curious where you got these stats regarding admissions. it is my impression that in the past the UC schools were more actively dealing out admissions and if you were not accepted into a school—they might even accept you into one you had not applied to. but i thought that had all changed, and that UCLA and CAL were independent. yes, they can read the “rating” for your application, and UCLA even sent me a note warning me about that when they asked me a question about my HighSchool they said that all the UC schools would have access to my reply. but it is my impression that most kids who are accepted to UCLA are also accepted to CAL. but not all. in my current school all the kids last year that i know who were accepted to CAL were also accepted to UCLA for example. so i am very interested to read any information you have that states otherwise.

also, in the past i think each application was sent to each school (in my father’s day). now we submit one app and there is no place to rank preference which you mention above as them knowing our preferences. did you mean that we might write about that in our personal statements? thanks! good luck.

personally i feel like it would be so much better if we could rank…

Berkeley needs a Transfer profile like UCLA.
