7 hours : )

Ahhh! Welcome to the longest day of the year.

Good luck, everyone. I’ll see you on the other side.

I was going to go to the aquarium to do some Bio homework, but I think I’m going to stay home so I don’t get hit by a bus.

Good luck to everyone in this thread.

It’s been a pleasure to read all the banter in here since early March. I hope everyone posts in the decision thread that is bound to be put up. Be it in joy or grief, it will be interesting to see how it goes for everyone.

I have to read and rewrite an essay but I can’t concentrate. I’m just gonna watch old wrestling videos on youtube. NWO 4 life.

It’s strange, I was way more nervous and anxious yesterday than I am today.

This will be me if I get into Berkeley tonight.

Good luck, everyone! :)

Can any of you give advice to a parent? My kid was rejected from UCLA last week (4.0 gpa, work history, extracurric, etc. so I did not expect that) and I am wondering what I should do if he is rejected from Berkeley as well.

I would like to not say anything dumb and would rather hear from students than from other parents. Thank you.

I wish you all the best of luck! Berkeley would be lucky to have any one and each of you.

Off to school, good luck everyone!

@meohmy

Did your son get accepted into any other schools?

@meohmy: he should appeal to UCLA.

And trust me, I’m sure he’ll get onto Berkz as well. :)

@meohmy: First, I am sorry that your kid was rejected and it is good of you to seek advice on handling the issue. Just out of curiosity, did he/she have all of their required pre-req’s completed? (like English, math, major requirements) It is my understanding that UCLA and Berkeley are very strict about the completion of these classes before transferring.

If, unfortunately, your kid is rejected from Berkeley as well, as a student myself, I would want to figure out what I would need to do to make my dreams of going to a top school like ucla or berkeley a reality. If the pre-req’s were the case, then maybe staying another year at a CC to get those classes done can be that extra push to get into berkeley or ucla. Overall, if i got rejected i would want to figure something out quickly and then get my mind off of it. The worst thing for me as a student would be having to stress about it and not know what the future holds. Hopefully that helps a bit.

Good Luck! I hope your kid gets accepted!!

@meohmy:
say nothing unless spoken to! Your kid will talk to you about it when he or she is ready to. Best of luck!
