Hopefully we don’t get wait listed
Well they start sending admission notices on April 1st through the end of April. I hope we don’t get wait listed too, but right now it’s too early to conclude anything good or bad about what will happen, so don’t worry. What are your stats?
Hi Guys can you check my stats ):
Transferring from OCC
GPA: Applied with 3.2 but with fall grades (All A’s) it should be a 3.4
Major: Psych and Social Behavior / Public Health ( I’m an idiot and didn’t realize there was another psych option, does it look bad if you have something not realted to your first choice as your alternative? )
Applied: UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCR
Admitted: UC Riverside
IGETC: Will completed by this Spring only 1 left ( Physical Science)
Pre-Req.: Finished all except for one course that was not articulated
Tag: N/A
ECs : 3 years of a volunteering for a medical mission in Vietnam. Volunteered at a hospital, Boys and Girls club
I have two W’s though, but I heard UC’s don’t care too much?
I got a C in zoology which tanked my gpa ):
Thank you!!
I have no idea I have almost the same GPA and am a PSB applicant, I was told that the average is about a 3.4 for UCI, but the admissions representative told me in person that I had a fair chance and it was worth applying, mainly because they look at your overall situation and judge you on more than just GPA. I heard Ws don’t matter. Also I heard they base their accept/reject on your updated grades and not the initial application grades so you are a 3.4 applicant and that is right about the average admitted GPA. PSB in 2015 had 589 applicants, of that 435 were admitted, of those 248 actually enrolled, so roughly 3/4 qualified applicants have the opportunity for PSB http://www.oir.uci.edu/files/adm/IA21-fall-transfers-select-yield-by-major.pdf. Has it been challenging for you to get all As, have you found that you worked harder or did better than your fellow classmates ?

We have a pretty close set of stats pph, your GPA is higher though, but we will see what happens, hope we both get in.
@BackNSchool83 I don’t think the UCs care about the golden 4. I got accepted into UCSB and I didn’t even do a speech class (2A?)
Yeah I think they only care about the silver three. @aedie1 two English and math.
Also took a gander at the apartments. And just looking at the prices is making me want to reject my acceptance if I get one .-,
@pph123 yeah Ws only matter when you’re applying to grad scholl
UC housing is so expensive. At Davis it’s almost $11,000 for Fall, Winter, Spring quarter.
Are you talking about the residence halls? Because that’s pretty good. Even at riverside my total annual apartment cost will be 12500 for the year. At UCI it will be 14000
No, that’s for Student Housing Apartments for transfer students. It’s somewhere around $10,900 for single occupancy with no meal plan. It’s basically pay that much for the convenience since you’re guaranteed housing for the first year, but still $10K-$14K for housing is just so insane to me.
I think it’s alright I guess. I’m going to get a one bedroom. For me and my pet
Anyone get acceptable for any Engineering at UCI this fall 2016?
Are they really sending out decisions on April 1st? Where did you guys read this.
Anytime between April 1st and 30th. Not necessarily the first. It’s posted all over the UC website.
UCI is taking so long. I need to sir soon in order to get a spot for housing.
@sachill Honestly, expect to be waiting until about the time UCLA releases decisions. Unless you receive the regents; then you’d perhaps hear back in early April.
@Cheolf unfortunately, I haven’t received any regent so there’s a chance that I will be denied.
@sachill The only people that have received regents thus far have also been accepted into the College Honors Program (via Honors to Honors). Regular regents should hear in early April. There’s still hope yet!
