Does anyone know if winter intersession grades count towards our GPA for decisions?
No they won’t factor in, but if you let the UC know, they may consider them in the analysis. Their choice.
Uh ok so yeah I’m going to get involved with the thread because I am hoping to get in. I’m optimistic.
Major: Psychology
After this semester gpa: Expected to be 3.09 but could be less maybe 3.02. My current gpa is 2.98 but I’m doing very well this semester and that’s my projected GPA.
IGETC: Completed
Applied: UCR, UCI, UCSB, UCSC, UCD
Major requirements:1 left in the spring
So the way it went was I was doing awesome, then had a bad semester last fall, then all W’s in the spring because I moved to Texas, then has another bad summer. So I had a downward grade trend but am bringing it back up!
Countchocula25 Well look into academic renewal with your improved GPA, and being optimistic is what I’m trying to do as well. I have a 3.1 gpa at time of application. Ws aren’t the end of the world. Did your personal essays go well ?
Backnschool yeah I’ve already done academic renewed lol. Thing is last year I applied to UCI and they accepted me with a 2.98 Gpa because my essay is the bees knees. So I’m not too stressed about it this time. Honestly I will take whatever UC I get.

I was wondering if the 3.0 gpa required for major courses includes the two additional approved courses for Electrical Engineering.
Preference will be given to junior-level applicants with the highest grades
overall who have satisfactorily completed the following required courses:
- one year of approved calculus,
- one year of calculus-based physics with laboratories (mechanics, electricity,
and magnetism), - one course in computational methods equivalent to UCI’s EECS 10, and
- two additional approved courses for the major
Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in required courses.

I got my email to set up my application update account as well. Got a few from other UCs and CSUs as well.

I haven’t received anything from UCI, apart from the TAG email.
Ok well UCI has started to send stuff out. My application was sent about 5 mins after the filing period started on November 1 at 9 am, that is probably why I got this, that or it’s random. It doesn’t indicate that I was chosen to proceed sooner than or over others. Try making a UCI net ID with your UC application number. I can confirm this is for the Fall 2016 term.
Thanks for your reply. I just received the email this morning. Turns out, I was given the same ID I used when I applied back in Fall 2014 for freshmen admission.
