@100789 I stocked up on wine and kleenex and also party baloons and whistles, so i’m prepared.
wine and whistles would make a great name for a bar
^ lol I’ve got rum and cookies
Usually UCLA releases before UCI.
is the portal site down for anyone else right now?
@Eterion Yep! I’ve been trying to get through for the last 10 min!
I got on no prob, nothing new on my portal.
I got into my portal.
Maybe they are waiting for Friday so they can make or break the weekend for those waiting…seems to me they would not just take TAG students for transfer…the fact that no one in here has heard yet Im assuming there are others not in this tread that are not TAG or Honors still waiting…or could I be wrong…and UCI decided that they want only the best and brightest? sometimes what a grade shows is not what a grade shows…what is on paper never is what is in your head…
When I went to aCC over 35 years ago I did terrible in my GE classes and even on some prerequisites…got into the Nursing program…and passed nursing with high Honors…my lowest grade through the whole program was an 86…
Worked as a nurse for 25 years before retiring to stay home with my children…worked my way all the way up to Labor and Delivery (L&D or OB nurse how ever you want to put it) and retired with a salary of $94,000 a year.
My point is that the classes that you all took does not show through who you are…when you get into your major and doing what you worked to get to as a transfer is what should show through to them…Im wondering if they look at the grades but on those that dont make honors or TAG they look more at who the person is in their Essays closer than anyone else.
TO THOSE WHO ARE GOING INTO NURSING…once you get that little piece of paper that says…YUP Im a nurse…the first few years are hard and some of you may want to drop your career…DONT! you have to give it like any job at least 5 years…you will start at the bottom and have to work your way up proving yourself…that means the worst shifts, the worst patients and so on…stay with it…after I retired early I took care of my boys and am know taking care of the elderly in their homes…I loved nursing and miss it everyday…also try not to let the beurocracy get in the way of your career…there is a lot of it in nursing!
Good luck everyone I am saying prayers for all of you every day!!!
@100789 We shall call it henceforth… judgement day.
@jf45122 Hey there. If it reassures you any further, I contacted them about dropping a course a while back that I didn’t need and they let me know that it would not affect my admission decision in anyway. If you still can, update it on the UC app. They took about a day or so to respond so don’t worry too much. I’m sure they’re flooding over with messages as of now.
i talked to our UCI rep and she said they are rolling out starting with tag and honors and down. Said end of the month but hopefully this weekend no promises
Thank you @BackNSchool83
If you guys don’t get in for Fall 2016, will you try again for Spring 2017 Admission? I have a cumulative 3.6 and I think my TAG got voided because last semester I took 2 classes where I received an A and a B, however, one was a lab which resulted in a 3.0 GPA instead of a typical 3.5(Ridiculous, I know, and my B was 3% from an A). So with my TAG being voided, I am going to TAG in May for Spring 2017. Assuming my application gets denied.
Is Spring easier to get into because not many people know of transferring in during Spring?
I really, really, really, want to go to UCI more than anything. I got accepted to CSUF and CSULB but that isn’t going to cut it for me.
Do they have spring 2017 open? @ucithrowaway
pretty sure merced is the only uc that accepts spring applications if they even do at all
I mean UCI had spring application open for spring 2016.
They only had spring applications for certain majors. It was really last min and not well advertised, so I think a lot of people missed it. I would have applied, hoping for less competition, but they weren’t taking my major for spring It’ll be really frustrating not getting in when they extended the application deadline and opened enrollment for spring, as if they need more people! I don’t know why, instead of extending the deadline, they don’t just take more of those who applied. It would have boosted their CA resident acceptance percentage (instead of lowering it by increasing applicants) and would have been fair to those of us who did it by 11-30 and didn’t have extra time.
here are the courses that were not accepted in spring admission at UCI…not sure if they will open Spring up again like last year or what they may offer…

@ucithrowaway I got a 3.0 during my fall semester but still got accepted to TAG
