Does anyone else have a “Non-Admissions” hold on their application?

@xenoplanet yes I got the same thing! I was just about to post about that. I’m guessing it’s about advising because uci allow transfers to take summer classes this year. I also done some research myself after getting that hold. following is the link that explains some holds that might be placed on our account: https://www.reg.uci.edu/enrollment/holds.html
It says that all transfer students will have holds until advising. I will call first thing in the morning tomorrow but this is my guess

I got the same thing and my cc does somethkng similar for advising. Considering Intalked to them already to figure out summer classes and intend on applying to transfer edge today, we’ll see what I can do to get this removed…

Hey guys, I called about that yesterday and was told that ALL transfers will have that UNTIL they do academic advising which is sometime in June. So don’t worry about it for now as you’re not alone.

Trust me though, I started freaking out when I saw that haha.

E2, that wont work for me. I fully intend to apply for transfer edge and take summer courses. So… ill see what they can do when i get off work.

Oh man, I couldn’t sleep last night because the worst possible causes of the hold were running through my head all night. But I called this morning, and it turns out there’s nothing to worry about. The hold is placed until we meet with our transfer advisors in mid-June. The person on the phone told me that we should expect to recieve an email soon regarding the meeting. I’m sure we’ll get something in the admissions portal message center as well.

So, for the hold, if you are like me and intend to take summer courses. It shouldnt affect summer, but if it does, call them and theyll remove the hold so you can get the summer classes you need.

I would definitely need to do that because I’m trying to take summer as well

@Escapyst Yea I’m also taking summer courses at UCI and I checked last night on my the summer session site and I’m still “enrolled” in my classes so i don’t think the hold affected signing up for summer session.

On another note, anyone excited to take courses at UCI this summer?? haha

Do you guys think if I drop a class that has nothing to do with my major prerequisites or the IGETC I’ll get my admission rescinded. I want to drop General Chemistry II because it’s a 5 unit class and I can’t get higher than a D probably. I’m a psychology major and I’ve already completed my minimum 60 units, and my prerequisites and the IGETC. I sent a message to my admission counselor one week ago but she hasn’t responded. So do you think I’ll be rescinded or they’ll let it slide? If it matters, I haven’t dropped a class before.

@centennial13 If they haven’t responded to the email, make sure to call admissions tomorrow and ask them. I’m sure you can get an answer if you do that. I doubt you would be reprimanded over it considering it just sounds like a filler class, but call to make sure.

@centennial13 Hey there! I was actually in a similar case earlier in the semester. I dropped General Chem I lecture and lab since it had nothing to do with my major and sent them a message about it. They told me that this wouldn’t affect my admission and I ended up getting accepted. Just make sure that if you drop this you still have over 60 transferable units of coursework. If so, you’re golden.

Has anyone received financial aid yet?

“Your file is complete. We expect to have your financial aid award available shortly. You will receive notification from us once your award information is available.” We’re keeping our eyes peeled for it on the “Life after Admission” page http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-irvine/1885702-life-after-admission-what-to-do-and-how-to-prep-for-an-optimal-fall-2016-transfer.html

Aid is up! About time

Does anyone know if tuition fees come out of your grants if you qualify for Blue and Gold? Or is the aid separate?

I got my financial aid award too. it was more than i expected.
