<p>Dude, not to turn this into an AA argument, but pulling up Prop 209 as an excuse for someone getting into Stanford but not UCLA is unfair. It’s called “holistic admissions” my friend. Stanford likes people who adore sunlight, not nerds.</p>
<p>Besides, there are plenty of people on this board below a 1950 who got accepted to UCLA, and plenty above a 2000 who got rejected. Are you going to assume all of the minority low-stat applicants that were accepted got in because UCLA bent the rules regarding Prop 209? Maybe UCLA thought they would make for better students. Imagine what that campus would be like if they did the application process strictly 100% merit-based. </p>
