<p>@sonic23 not to be a worrier, but last summer when I emailed Ms Sun, she said any time anyone tells you this or that is OK, get it in writing because someone can later say it was never said. UCSB’s twitter puts out an email to ask a counselor a question. My daughter used it twice and got responses within 24 hours. Comments: Well, since many engineering students got rejected with 3.8+ GPA, I had a feeling that I would also get denied. Also, assist clearly states that I need to complete all the required courses, one of which is Engineering 3, to be considered for admission. Finger crossed for UCB and UCLA. </p>

Comments: I honestly feel a bit bad because of my low GPA and all of those getting denied with high GPAs. I talked to the admissions rep in the fall and they said that the College of Engineering wants to get rid of the TAG because there are students with lower GPAs that have to be admitted forcing the department to open additional sections of classes and also deny students of higher GPAs to be admitted. It also comes down to having all of the coursework done though. I’m even taking the Physics 4/4L equivalent at the moment. The classes here are very competitive though as I go to the CC that pretty much everyone who wants to transfer to Berkelely goes to (including the massive amount of the international students), especially compared to some of the other local CC’s in the area (one of which I’m currently taking Linear Algebra at) in which the curriculum are a complete joke compared to the curriculum here, so I’ll blame my lower GPA on that and working 20 hours a week :). To all those with higher GPAs who got denied, I’m sure you’ll get accepted to one of the other fantastic (and probably better) universities and go on to have a great careers.</p>
