I FINALLY GOT IN TO CAROLINA on my 3rd try!!!

Hi guys and gals- I’m a transfer student and was just notified of my acceptance today; I’m wondering when transfer students get to register for classes. Do any of you know?

Accepted!!!

Congrats to all those accepted, and best of luck to those still waiting for their decision!

Kjc!!! Omg!!! We have to meet up sometime. Seriously.

McBainTrain I was just reading the FAQ and found the date. Thanks though. And yeah UNC was a reach but I want to give it a shot still. I still got into the school I wanted to get into. Still UNC would be nice haha.

BarkingAtHeels, when did you receive your acceptance to take you off the waitlist? And do you have any idea what they put more emphasis on for the waitlisted applicants. Thanks.

I was never on the waitlist, they weren’t done (hadn’t started) reviewing my application when decisions came out last year. The past 2 years they haven’t taken anyone off the waitlist, I believe, I know for sure last year they took zero off the waitlist.

They put a lot of emphasis on you being a good match for UNC. That you’re applying to UNC because you’re aiming for something you can’t find elsewhere, or that UNC does better. Not just because UNC is UNC and is prestigious, if that makes sense.

Accepted!!! Looks like I’m headed to the east coast.

Hey BAH, thanks for all your support both last year and this spring! You not only helped me, but a lot of others and I know they appreciate it as much as I do… We definitely will meet up now that I finally made it… Damn I feel good!

Waitlisted with a 3.61, three major extracirriculars, 19 credits and a great essay…
Boyfriend got in with a 3.3 and no extra cirriculars…but brother goes there and in-state residency. I guess hooks were a factor! Happy for both of us but just a little confused :)

ahhhh i got in!
Congrats to everyone accepted and good luck to those of you on the waitlist!
Does anyone know when the deadline to accept/decline is?

annakate- residency doesn’t matter.

McBain does that mean that the legacy really does matter? He does go to NC State, idk if that means anything

Maybe it was your low amount of credits that did it. How was your high school stuff? Because I have a 3.8 college GPA, very high high school GPA/class rank, but literally zero ECs in college, and my hs ECs were mediocre at best. I’m not even exaggerating. No clue how I got in. I’m OOS, but apparently that doesn’t matter for transfers.

I’d definitely try again next year!

AHHHH I GOT IN!!! BEST DAY EVER!!!

CONGRATS TO EVERYONE ELSE THAT GOT ACCEPTED!!!

If you were rejected or wait listed keep your heads up!!!

Sorry i meant 19 credits last semester, taking 17 so i guess 36 overall, and 21 from high school! Should have clarified. I had a TON of high school EC’s, a ton, and a very good amount of college ones. but i did not have a great high school gpa per say, i took a ton of ap classes but didnt have the 4.0 that people did, didnt fail them, just not the best grade wise.

Rejected… it would have suprised me that i would have been accepted withy mediocre stats… it is ok tough… i guess its plan b time. Hahaha

Sent from my M860 using CC App

Everyone who got waitlisted, don’t give up!!

KJCUNC, HECK YEAH! YOU FINALLY DID IT! :D

Annakate1992, I was in your shoes last year… I had a 3.81 college GPA when I applied as a sophomore transfer… My hs record and SAT/ACT scores were good, but I don’t think my essay conveyed much to the adcoms, so I was wait-listed and then rejected when no one was taken off the wait list.

Make your mind up if you want to try again next year, and if so, then stay focused on your goal! As a Junior transfer applicant your high school record won’t come into play nearly as much as that of a sophomore transfer applicant. Your college record will be what they really focus on along with that ever important essay(s). Heed BAH’s advice on essays, they can really help you, so put in the time writing and re-writing them so they tell the story about your best qualities.

Best of luck!
