How many are on the Chicago waitlist?
.@Adaephon
You can email your regional admissions officer.
Where should I submit info about application updates (as in updates about major awards/achievements from the past few months)? Through the application portal or should I write about them in my letter of continued interest?
Also, if the former, what’s the best way to format it–worded as a letter or a straightforward list?
Thanks and good luck to everyone
I think you’re supposed to email your regional counselor.
By the way, does anyone know when the University will start admitting wait listed students? Also, is it possible that they will leave us hanging the whole summer?
@Yellowish Last year waitlist admits started around the 11th of April and continued into May. At least by looking at past patterns, UChicago doesn’t make you wait past May for your waitlist decision.
The concept of waitlists for colleges is the most agonizing thing ever… As people are firmly deciding their futures, we’re here waiting in college limbo land wondering if our options will change
so what did you all write about exactly in the email? I have a draft where I just reaffirmed my interest in the university and my major…should I get more specific? Don’t really have any major updates
Just got in off of the waitlist! There is hope!
Details, @strugglebus666 ! (Oh, and HUGE congratulations
Now…how did you find out that you’re accepted? Via email? What do you think made you stand out to admissions? Will you attend? And congrats. Again!
Congratulations, strugglebus666!!! May I ask who state are you from? What do you think helped you in order to be taken off waitlist. Kindly appreciated your input!
It’s so early. They already started it? How do they know how many students they need from wait list without knowing how many students accepted their addimissions? It’s not even close to May 1 st yet! I never understand the wait list process.
Congratulations, @strugglebus666 , and yes please let us know what state you are from, and how they contacted you, etc. It would be super helpful to others!
A school friend was just taken off the waitlist today. Apparently he called up the regional representative and learned his result. DC.
So I didn’t send my update/letter of interest yet, but I don’t have many updates. I sent a letter with about 6 updates (all pretty note worthy) but I’m not sure if they looked at it or factored it into my application. Should I ask my regional counselor if it’s worth repeating these updates or…?
I just got in!!! Got a call and boom!
Congrats! Are you in DC too?
@nightbird407 I just saw your reply. Thank you for your uplifting positive comment. I think we all need it at this point
Hi friends. Should we email our regional counsellors? I don’t have any positive updates so do you think I should email them?
@TrazCapDEV Congrats
Would you mind answering if you have sent a letter of interest and if you did, what was written in it?
@exacademic @Armchair
Yes, I’m also in DC. International student though. I sent 3 letters actually lol. First right after my deferral, second after being waitlisted, and the last one was about current events. In all of them I wrote that I will definitely attend if admitted. Be aware that my school is a huge feeder though. Over 50% of the applicants get in, so this may not be applicable to others.
