just got deffered ![]()
NOOO :(

^ Same here. I think they sent several decisions today… DEFERRED :(

Well, I just got my deferrence letter today as well…I think my stats were pretty ok though…does being an international student from a small country (Singapore) affect the decision?

@Yuewan: hey, i am vietnamese studying in Singapore too, just also got defered
u got ur a levels result yet. Mine is not yet though! i think we should send it in first before they consider us!

My friend just got deferred too. It is really interesting how they are still deferring people. I was deferred at EA, and if get deferred again…

Sometimes deferment seems worse than rejection. It holds you back from moving on to other universities.

Did you folks get an email telling you a decision was made? THanks

Aniger, yes we did.

Are any of the people getting deferred today Regular Decision or are you all EA who had been deferred previously?

My friend was RD and he was deferred today. I was an EA deferral, but I haven’t heard anything yet. My counselor has sent my mid-year report last week.

whatislove, so sorry, can’t believe they are dragging this out yet again. good luck to you. if you don’t mind my asking, what are your stats?

I applied RD and got deffered just a few hours ago. apparently i have the “good” defferal letter if you go look at the thread i created.

my stats:
SAT: 1730
GPA: 3.4-3.5 UW
ECs, Essays, and Reccomendations: they were amazing and probably helped me out A LOT.

thank you for sharing, how do i find your thread? has anyone heard of any RD kids getting accepted or rejected?

oh sry, one more question, when did you apply?

heres a link to my thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/1082274-just-got-deffered-rd.html

i applied december 5th

^my d applied October 31, in time for EA, but did RD because she was doing EA at Northwestern. OMG, I hope we hear something soon. I hope they will give you a final decision soon! That is just more torture!

"Dear Andrea:

After multiple individualized and comprehensive evaluations of your application to the University of Michigan College of Engineering for Fall 2011, we believe that you have something uniquely valuable to contribute to our campus. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date…"

Is this a “good” deferral?

I was deferred for RD. I applied for in-state and all of my application items were received by the middle of November.

I hate being deferred so late. It messes up my decisions. :/

It is a good deferral email. I got the same one on EA.

seems like today was mostly deferrals. heres to hoping monday is an “acceptance day” and some EA defferrals hear back

When they released the EA decisions, mostly deferrals came out first as well, but my d’s boyfriend did hear his acceptance that same evening. Keep checking!

I am also waiting to hear, I applied RD in mid november…

From the previous posts it looks like they’re sending out decisions in waves?
