Got deferred today, pretty surprised to be honest. Not sure what the next step is, I applied to 7 schools in 7 different states and i am not sure which one is at the top, it changes all the time. Michigan has always seemed like a good fit for me but I have never really went the extra mile with any of my schools because I never knew which was my favorite. Not in the mood to post everything but I had good recs, and ECs, along with a great upward GPA trend. I had 7 APs, my school only offers 11 (Can’t take every language), 3 great SAT II, a 3.7 uw, 4.14 w GPA and a 2110 SAT. (800m, 700cr, 610w)

^^ gotta love NJ admissions rep for UMich…wonder why every year it’s harder to get in from this state???

Sent in mid year grades but did not send any additional recs.

I got my deferral letter today…apparently, it’s the “best” one out of the three, where they tell you we are impressed with your high achievements. However, I’m still really disappointed as U of M is my top choice. I know I have really average SAT scores, but I was hoping other pieces of my application would make up for it.
Does anyone know the percent they accept after getting deferred (all the while being on the good side of the deferral)? Also, when can I hope to find out?
The admissions office told me they’d release my second decision in mid-April, but honestly, I don’t trust them because they told me I’d get my first decision in mid-April.
