Official Unofficial Class of '11 Thread

Yeah. And it’s only a year’s worth of math for the program. Unless physics counts as math since it’s math intensive. But yeah. I’ll be working towards something I really want to do. (Make medicene)

Hey, I’m jumping into the thread. I just made an account here, but I’ve been lurking CC for a good month or so. My name’s Bryanna.

Here’s my schedule for this year:
Gym (Team Sports, 1st Semester)/Adventure Gym (2nd Semester)
Human Physiology and Anatomy Honors
U.S History (Standard, I dropped out of AP U.S. :/)
Honors Precalculus
French III Honors
AP English 11

Currently, my schedule for next year looks something like this:
AP English 12
AP Calculus AB
AP Biology (Still kinda iffy.)
French IV Honors
A computer graphics/wed design class. (Can’t remember official title.)
Gym (1st semester)/Honors Economics (2nd Semester)

Welcome to our thread =)

Thanks. Haha, I thought I had killed the thread because no one was posting after me.

Don’t worry, I thread-kill all the time. =)

aigiqinf, I was really considering not posting and letting you prove your point. But I decided that disproving your point was more fun.

^
And what are you taking?

@IMFROMCHINA92 - no one’s laughing.

Here’s my schedule for next year:

Physics (possibly Honors)
Chemistry (possibly Honors)
Math
Economics
English
Chinese (Possibly, I hope not)

My schedule for this year was:
English
Chinese
Math
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Geography
Social Studies

I’m taking many APs next year
4 Histories, Psychology, Biology, maybe Physics B, Chinese, Environmental Science, Human Geography

Gotta start studying soon. I’ve got a break now.

how are you guys able to plan your senior year so soon! we aren’t even halfway done with junior year lol

Well, English is required all four years, so since I’m in AP11 right now, I’m assuming I’ll be in AP12 next year. I’ve known for a while that I wanted to take math all four years (same with French). I just recently decided to take a science next year (that’s why I’m still kind of iffy). And the rest are for credits that I have to have (except the graphics, which I’m taking just because I like that sort of stuff), so I have to take those classes.

my schedule this year:
orchestra
calculus
ap us government (1st sem.) ap comp gov (2nd sem.)
digital graphic design (1st sem.) art of motion picture (2nd sem.)
honors english
honors physics

honors physics is a such a joke though, i really should’ve taken ap. i swear my teacher is senile.

oh and im taking spanish 3 online.

I’m planning on this being my sernior year schedule. But we haven’t even had a scheduling convo yet.

Honors English 12 (harder than AP Comp, easier than Lit)
AP Calc AB
Gov/AP Macro or Gov/Econ in summer school, and then I could do Euro and fun.
Graphic Design/Aerobics or maybe AP Euro, not sure. I’ll probably want a fun class in there.
Spanish 4
Physics
Study Halll.

This year:
Spanish 3
Teacher’s Aide
AP Chem
Honors English 11
Honors Pre-Calc/Trig
AP US History

So yeah. Not like overly AP-full. But we only have 11 APs at my school. 3 sciences (doing more than one in a year is impossible), Calc AB, 5 Histories (Macro, Micro, US Gov, Euro, and US), and LitComp and LangComp.

We already meet with our counselor to determine senior courses, but everything always changes at the last minute. Apparently I had it backwards, and courses taken during the summer are added to the previous year’s transcript.

So, officially:

No APs, so I win =)

Wow, 13 classes? lol

I have 6!

I’m assuming they’re 6 year-long APs? My county only “officially” does 4x4 schedules (4 courses every semester), but I’ve never taken a “normal” load any semester I’ve been in high school.

Yes, they are year-long classes. I’m only taking 4 AP classes though. Ok, so you just take college classes on top of the classes that you take at your high school?

My high school doesn’t offer APs…actually we offer like nothing. Yeah, I take college courses and they count toward high school graduation requirements. We have a system-wide agreement though, so the public schools in my state are required to take the credits. I’m exempt from tuition (and books for an online class), but if I’m taking a face-to-face class, I have to pay for books and the activity fee. 2 of the courses I’m taking next year are at a school over an hour away so in their tuition and books, local tuition and books, and gas prices next year is going to set me back almost $3000 probably. =(

Wow! I’m sorry:/ Did you ever consider taking free online AP classes? That would save you some money. At least you are able to take college classes. That will help you when you start applying to universities:)

My state offers free online APs, but they are very high quality. I don’t like AP idea anyway…you sit in a classroom for a year in order to take the equivalent of a 1 semester college course. Your teacher is unqualified to teach a college course in the subject, and thinks that they should just overload you with busy work and try to take off a ton of points for extraneous “errors.” Then, you pay $84 for each test, and each college sets some arbitrary requirement for giving credit, sometimes making the credit elective or way undervalued.
