Official US November SAT Discussion II (Test with Negative Campaigns)

rlaxodn I think your talking about a question that said if 72 was 40% of the original number what was the number to begin with which is 180

that **** was about pencils man

can someone explain how??

So Person Z had X amount of pencils. He sold of bunch of them, and he had 72 pencils left. 72 pencils is 40% of the original amount of pencils. How many pencils did he have to begin with?

X = 72/.4 = 180.

i got 120 for that book question

However, that is not how I remember the problem. I remember it to be he had X amount of pencils, and he sold 40% of X, and he had 72 left. The answer in that case would be 120.

Because x - (.4x) = 72, so .6x = 72, so x = 120.

the question was a person sold 40% of his books and had 72 left, how many books did he originally start with

^120 then. Can anyone else confirm?

do you guys remember if it was a mc or a gridin?

MC.

10char

Confirm for 120. The question was that he sold 40% of his pencils, meaning that 72 is 60% of what he had.

@rlaxodn the problem is a grid-in

it was 180…

can someone without an experimental math section confirm that they did or did not have an hard ellipses equation on one of the sections?

Mercurial was not experimental. It was either below or above officious. Why is it not overdue and repay? Repay might be tricky but delinquent absolutely makes no sense…

What were the other options to coagulate?

i got 120 for the pencil question
he has 60% left since 40% is sold
60/100=72/x
