Official US November SAT Discussion II (Test with Negative Campaigns)

What about the question:
What is always the unit digit of a 4 digit number ending in 3 ^7?
I think I put 7, that was like the only math question i guessed on.

agreed strom… i would differentiate the elements’ following the qualifications from the subset as a whole

for 3^7 i also put 7!

what was the question for patrician

For the plates passage:

How could it be movement when it was “HIS ______”. He didn’t move; he explored the topic, so that why I chose his exploration.

i agree with college… it was him that was doing it

More vocab:
Sanctuary
Recluse (for the one about Prince)

Reading:
Eliza was petrified (right?)
Matt’s engraving was complex and careful (I think)
Surface anatomy - I thought it was to define a term, but it might be a pun, since surface anatomy usually as to do with humans.
Campaigning, word in italics - to agree with an unusual assertion
Campaigning, hard = competitve
Hurston had a “capacity” for friendship (?)

Writing #29: I don’t think there was an error (E)

Math:
Last digit of the ^7 four digit integer: 7
Socks - 1/3
Cube surface area - 58
I/II/III - a /= 2. That’s the only one.
Year: 1980
For the functions one: g(x) = 0
The poet sold: 200 books

What about the one with the jittery friend? I put petrified at first, but then I remembered that petrified also meant that you couldn’t move, but she was hyper. So I changed it to agitated at the last second. Thoughts?

friend was agitated. no debate on this one. someone found the actual passage and it said lather with excited anxiety- that is clearly agitated.

Question: are all the questions in an experimental section just not counted in your score? Because if I got any CR wrong, I want them in the experimental section X)

awesome, that makes me happy.

ameyazing: The poet did not sell 200 books. The actor sold 50 more books than the poet, so if the poet sold 200, the actor sold 250, for a total of 450 books when the problem says only 410 were sold.

The answer is 180. If the poet sold 180 books, the actor sold 230. 230 + 180 = 410. 40 people bought a book from each is actually a useless piece of information.

@ameyazing was complex and creful even a answer choice, i thought it was like abstract and careful or something like that???

can we stir some debate on whether the answer to the peregrination question was movement or exploration

@katamariforever it was definetely 200, thats the major consensus. The question did not ask for how many only bought the poets book, how how many poet books were sold (only and both)

@panmit

i think the answer was complex and intricate

@katamariforever
40 who bought both is not useless. It said that 410 PEOPLE bought books. not 410 BOOKS were sold. It’s 200.

the poet sold 200 books

union = a + b
410 - 40 = poet + actor
370 = x + x + 50
x = 160

intersection = 160 + 40 = 200

Oh I remembered another question dealing with what hanging meant: resisting; anyone concur?

@dodgers I think it’s movement cause Peregrination means a going from one place to another usually of some distance and exploration means a systematic search for the truth or facts about something. m-w.com

another answer for the plate tectonics question was movement correct?
