Do you remember what the exact question was?

Visionary was from the tectonics passage. The question was something like:

What does the author call Wegener a “visionary?”

(A) He combined a lot of topics
(B) He established a theory that would later be built upon

I’m pretty sure the answer was (B) but there is some dispute

Ok, I remember it now, and I remember putting something along the idea of “establishing a theory that would be later built upon”, but was the choice that word for word?

^no definitely not… I was paraphrasing

Guys, what do you think -2 will be on this test? 800?

yes penguin was 20 im pretty sure. Or close to there. Its 1/2 to the math question if you just count the dots. Visionary was heralding new discoveries, pretty sure. Visionary means like seeing things beyond your time, so.

was the question like. What fraction of the ones that scored above 10 on the first test, scored lower than 40 on teh second test? (i forget the numbers) but i remember counting only 4 that met the reequirements

-2 CR is likely 790. This CR was not hard enough for an 800 sorry. Was writing considered hard? I thought it was easy, so darn harsh curve. I’m assuming 10e and -1 will not be 800?

no, sorry. It was more. You can’t really explain without the scatterplot, but you have the restrictions correct.

i think i realize my mistake. darn
as for CR, did anyone get an section about individuals changing their opinions when part of a group?there also was a small passage that began with Summer 1853. “Girl” had not broken up with “Boy”
was it experimental?

Tenis, it was 1/2 because here were 10/20 students.

For visionary, the answer was a mix of topics. Go backto the passage (I posted the link) and you see that the sentence preceding it talks about the mixing of those topics.

i thought for visionary, the answer was that his theory would later serve as the basis for many other theories

@classiclays just read on and you will see it heralded later theories.

Could someone get a compiled list of answers going for each section?
Appreciate it

for the same passage what did you say for why the “nuances” were appropriate"
the tone of “why do you think workers wear hard hats” -humorous? sensitive?
the tone of hte whole passage? - did anyone say breezy?

With the thing about “visionary”, I think it could still be how he compiled evidence from different fields. The guy had a wide vision and oversight of all the elements of science, as well as how they all fit and worked together. I think he was a visionary in this way, because he understood so many things and saw how the worked together as a puzzle.

http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

According to this 95% of the time -2=800 CR.

1) movement
2) Was the rhetorical questions tone humorous or curious? . Was this the hard hat question? Or was it sincere?
3) Nuance- explain the nature of plates’ action?
4) why did the author use “tectus”?
5) jigasaw puzzle- makes the idea more accessible
6) overall tone of author was breezy?
7) visionary- what was the answer?

really? yay! What about -1 W wat essay score you need.

Are the “established a theory that would later be built upon” and the “heralded later theories” different choices?

I still maintain that the guy was visionary because he fused information from various fields. If you read the sentence, It reads that he “incisively” used ideas from fossils, glaciers, etc. to reach his visionary hypothesis. Incisively refers to keen discenrnment, and given that this is in the same sentence, I think that the visionary adjective is a result of his fusing info from different fields.
