Wait a minute. My status changed last feel from “We need more info” to “We don’t need anything anymore and will be reviews apps through March and notify by June” ? Is anyone else like this?

That probably just means that admissions has everything they need and hopefully you’ll find out soon

Mine still says “we need more info” because they needed by winter quarter grades and I sent them yesterday.

@jrnavid:
yeah that is a typical status. that just means that they have everything for now just like Hoobucs720 said.

hoping that people start getting some letters this week. :)

Marshall transfers!!!
My friend is trying to transfer in next fall and he has a question:

Can he take Business calculus or does he need to take Calc 1 and Calc 2. I told him he needs Calc 1 and Calc 2 to be competitive. Any experts on the subject?

i believe u could take business calc, but regular calc. transfers to any major. Like if your friend decides to change his mind in his major and it still needs calculus like engineering than that business calculus is not going to transfer over. For example I’m an engineering major and I took engineering calculus in calc. 1 and took regular calculus 2 and it still counts. But I would ask admissions just to make sure.

does anyone know if an intro to computer science class would transfer? Or any studio art classes?

check USC’s articulation agreement with your school. None of us could answer that for you.

Well I go to a 4 year university so there isn’t an official one I don’t think, but I guess most classes would transfer in some way.

Talk to your admissions counselor. You can find them on the USC admissions/transfer website.

@ragingzero

i really doubt if they will actually count the pass/no pass class as C in the GPA…i think the chance is rather low, since i went to their transfer day in fall 2011, and one of their councilor answered this concern. She said it is not recommanded and not necessary for a student to make classes pass/no pass, becuase even though the pass/no pass is not going to hurt the GPA, it is not better than a C to the admission office’s impression. I believe that is why you received responses on the “pass=C” issues…
But as for some classes that we have no options to select whether pass/no pass or getting an actually grade, I believe the admission officers will understand as long as we explain the issue. I am going to give them a call tmr…we will see what they say. But really, i think we are just fine…haha
we gotta relax~

anyone else having a problem logging into usconnect?

I am having a troble to login in! has anyone heard a rumor that USC will send out the SGR from next week?..

Hoobucs- you applied last year too? What were your stats?

Well I’m not sure if they looked at my high school stats as well as college or just my college stats, but they weren’t good enough for USC last year. I had a 3.0 college gpa for just fall and winter quarter (pretty sure I din’t even get a spring grade request). I had decent EC’s and no recommendation. This year I brought my gpa up to a 3.3 (3.6 fall, and 3.7 winter) while taking a much more difficult course load.

Hey everyone. I’m currently a freshmen (junior level standing) at UAB in a science and technology honors program. Currently my GPA is 3.81 (4.0 for science courses), which is due to the fall semester. I believe my GPA will raise to a 3.9 after this spring semester. I am in a research lab and will receive credit hours for it this summer. Since transfer application for 2012-13 is closed, I want to transfer during my Junior year. For now, what are my chances for UCD or any UC’s undergrad, especially since I am out of state?

Thank you

Alright… i contacted them today… the guy sounds so grumpy!!! ahh. when i asked about the rumor of the pass/no pass=c issue…he suddenly became so pushy and careful: “who was the person told you that?? our admission officers?? what is his name? what is his phone number??.. I can’t answer that. we dont tell people about the “C=PASS” thing…(sounds like a secret or something)” well well well…anyway, he said as long as we have completed more than 64 units, those pass/no pass classes are not big deals. They won’t care about those too much. (but if you have less than 64 units, then…urr…) sO basically this is his answer…He is very careful on answering the issue. well…

@sharontan1992
That does sound awfully secretive and suspicious.

@CorruptTheory
Hahahahah. EXACTLY!!! and he sounds sooooooooo grumpy… ah. awful experience :$

On the transfer brochure, it says Pass/Fail thing has no CREDIT meaning it is not a “C”…Also, it says, having one or two Pass/Fail classes are okay.

Last year, a Marshall applicant pass/failed his Calculus class and got in. Sharontan1992, what was your response when he asked who the guy was, what’s his email, etc? LOL

Hmm, I’m not sure if I’m THE “Applicant”. I took my Calculus class pass/fail but I ended up getting an SGR, but I did get accepted in the end.

p.s. I got a C on my 2nd Calculus class too
