Hoobucs- so you applied your freshman year in college for what?

Haha CrownoftheSea, you are actually the person I’m talking about! Wow you got really lucky! I read the 2011 thread over the summer. did you get in for spring?

I got in for Fall, which is surprising since I didn’t get my acceptance until mid-June!

So cool! How do you like USC? and what was your GPA prior to enrolling at USC?

@ScGal12

LOL. i just said it was from a person outside the admission office. but it is odd tho cuz i did hear that from a councilor in USC. …Anyway, i think as long as we clarify it to them, we should have no problems… :p

ScGal, I applied last year as an economics major to USC but here at ucsb my two econ classes both resulted in a C+ for me. This year I applied as a Mathematics major and my math grades are much better.

So guys how screwed am I? I’m a freshman at Penn St and got a 3.65 first semester of engineering. Looking like a about a 3.3 this semester. I’m nervous since I’m almost for sure getting a sgr.

Edit: Answered the following question myself.
Does USC factor you previous GPA into your USC GPA… or does it start all over like at many schools?

" Professional, technical, creative, or remedial writing courses will not satisfy the writing requirement. Once you are admitted, a transfer GPA will be established for all transferable course work; this average will be considered with your USC GPA to determine your eligibility for graduation with honors."
[Transfer Credit & Policy - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/trans_credit.html)

Mighty nice of USC =)

So are W’s considered F’s when calculating your GPA?

"Incompletes and missing grades from your transfer institution are treated as an “F.” "

W’s are not F’s… They don’t calculate into your gpa.

ah this wait is killing me. I’ve had the same status since late January. (we’ve received your application and supplement…) I did get the status unavailable for about a day then went back to what is was previously…

Anyone who is applying to SCA as a transfer, have you had any major status changes this past week?

Saw some friends who are still in high school post pictures of their acceptance packages! gahh Im dyin here!!! The wait is killing me.

@eppy21

SCA (animation) transfer applicant here. My status has been the usual “We require no additional information…” except for one night where it was Status not available or something to that effect.

I keep freaking checking USConnect like 5 times a day. I need to get my mind off of it, I just want to know! AHHHHG

Also, does anybody know if a request for spring grades would be mailed or emailed? Or just show up on the application status page?

Hoobucs- Yeah, Econ is pretty competitive too, hopefully you get in this time!!!

I cannot believe a decision for SGR will not arrive until mid-July; it should be more like mid-June. That is just way, way too late. Do you guys know which extracurricular activities you are all interested in (if admitted to USC)? I’ll definitely join Trojan Vision for sure.

@DJpsu2015

The Accountin Society!!! lol.

Are any of you guys 1 year transfers (entering USC as a sophomore)? Was it hard to get the right classes and necessary credits to transfer?

@eppy21: what major did u apply under SCA. I applied for the animation program.

Also what exactly is Trojan Vision. Is that the one where they have a camera on the trojan statue 24/7 and then make a quick video of everything that happened around that area of that day?

Hey guys, I’m not sure if you would call it a major status change, but just today I went from we require additional information…to we require no additional information. As I said not a huge change but the fact that it did might suggest they are reviewing ours now.

@blackrose21 I applied to production…going to that school has been my goal since I was probably 8 years old. It’s the only school I applied to. The application process was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done! I was reading the supp. materials for animation as well, so much material needed!

@sprotsfan1234 i am applying for sophomore transfer. I didn’t find it difficult for my classes. I knew i wanted to do engineering and they require you have at least Calc II and 2 lab based science classes. Preferably Calc based physics. My community College made me fit those requirements in really well!
