@s64693 so the college official’s report, school report, and mid-term report aren’t required either?

Correct. Almost all schools don’t require the school report (high school) for transfers. Only a few require the College report. USC does not require either. Don’t worry about the mid-term report unless they request it.

@s64693: Doesn’t USC want to see the School Report for proof of graduation/high school grades for at least sophomore transfers? Also, I thought the did want the College Report and mid-year report, otherwise how do they know your grades for this past semester?

High school transcript shows graduation date and courses/grades. College transcript may/may not show courses in progress. USC will look at the courses planned on the common app.

@s64
Where are you getting this information from? At the transfer day I was told the only common app form they don’t need is a letter of recommendation (unless your major states otherwise). They still need all of your transcripts, including HS

This is the application checklist DIRECTLY from the USC website, this should clear up any questions:
Application Checklist

Apply online using the Common Application and the USC Supplemental Application (www.commonapp.org)
Submit these items:
☐ Official SAT and/or ACT scores: Arrange for the testing agency to send your scores directly to USC.
☐ All official high school and college transcripts (first-year and transfer).
☐ School Report (First-year applicants only)
☐ Letter(s) of recommendation (optional, although may be required for some majors)
☐ Additional materials if required by major (see USC Supplemental Application for more information).
☐ Financial statement (for international students only): Available at International Students - USC Undergraduate Admission.
Submit your fall grades
First-year applicants: You can report your fall grades using the Mid-Year Report Form included in the Common Application or by visiting www.usc.edu/midyeargrades.
Transfer applicants: Make sure you send fall (and winter, if applicable) term grades when they become available.

@aisl09: Yes, USC (or any school for that matter) DOES look at the classes you take. They like to see your course load and rigor of the classes you’re taking. An applicant can be taking 18 hours of remedial courses, they for damn sure aren’t getting in. Quality over quantity.

@hopefulgraduate1

Yes, that is what I said. You need your high school transcript and college transcript. You don’t need the high school report and college report.

I’m applying as a communications major. they require one LoR, which I have gotten. Would it hurt to send in one more? Or maybe two?

Thanks

[Transfer Applicants: Are not required to submit school forms – Viterbi Notes](http://viterbinotes.usc.edu/2011/11/18/transfer-applicants-do-not-need-to-submit-school-forms/)

Omg that makes me so happy! Thanks for clearing it up, guys.

I have a question. I will be a transfer student and I think I will apply to USC. Why not, its only an application fee. Thank god I have my gi bill…

But I was wondering about acceptance. If admission letters aren’t sent until june for transfer students, how do I handle my UC admissions which will be sent around April? I will be applying as an engineering student (Didn’t want to go to UCLA, didn’t even apply). Do I just “wait”?

I also posted a similar question on the UC transfer thread. Thanx for the help.

Never mind, found out about the SIR- Student Intent to Register

Okay I’m screwed, today my mom just gave me news that we are moving to another part of the county and basically I have to change community colleges! Now I’m lost and confused and don’t know what to do because my USC deadline was December 1st and I already submitted my common apps. How do I example that I’m going to another community college?

Do you guys think applying with a 3.4 would be bad?

@Cluelessbelle: It depends on what major you’re going for. If its not too competitive, go for it! I’m a bit on edge about my GPA too because I just took one of my finals and I don’t feel too confident on that. But I can always redeem myself next semester. :)

@CluelessBelle: I read that on average, it’s 3.7 for the past few years but I assume if you go in undecided it’d be a little lower. In any case, don’t really feel bad because I’m below the average too!

Whoever said college was easy really had their minds in. I got a better GPA slacking in HS than I do trying in college. -___-

On a sidenote, I posted this but it was buried a few pages ago. I’m applying as a comm. major and it requires only one Letter of Recommendation. Do you think it’d hurt to send one more in? Maybe two more?

Hey I was just wondering what are some of the competitive majors??? I will be applying for civil engineering with an emphasize on structural engineering and I’m not to sure how I would stack up. Thanks!

@Uptownmalik101: I would just send a message to them, like an email or a letter, explaining what happened. I’m sure they would be understanding if it didn’t throw off your entire application.

@CluelessBelle: There was someone on here a while ago who got in with a 3.4 (and to Marshall, at that), so it definitely can be done. Just try to get it up and have a great application!

When are you guys expecting yourselves to submit your apps by?
