Official USC 2012 Transfer Thread

@mike011x: I did, and it took a while for them to update my portal, too. I’d definitely give them a call on Monday, though.

I don’t think they update over the weekends though I could be wrong.

On USConnect it is showing they received my Secondary School Report, and School Official report when I confirmed with my high school these documents were never sent over? Does anyone else have a similar status showing documents they didnt submit?

I applied last year and I guess they kept all the old documents because I can’t tell what they have received for this year. It’s so confusing.

Is anyone’s AP scores (advance placement exam) not showing as well?

Wow goddamn that is a lot. I’m assuming you applied out of highschool. I applied my first year of college and my list is not even close to a quarter of that.

@xkrystalx3: Yeah, that’s what mine looks like. I know what you mean, I can’t tell what the current documents are from what last year’s were. But when I called, the guy looked up my stuff and said something about how they can distinguish documents by year, so it shouldn’t be a problem, at least for them at the office.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to join in on all of the excitement.

I just submitted my college transcripts. All I have left to do is submit my high school transcript which I am going to do tomorrow.

Good luck to all!

@Bandit1990

Im checking the mail everyday for this to come in even though I already know what its going to say. Can you tell im way too excited? lol

It says they received my HS transcript, but it was from last years application cycle. Will they use that or should I send another one in just in case.

I see people mentioning their EFC. Where do I find that info? I already applied through FASFA but I dont see any follow up email telling me what my EFC is?

EDIT: it says my EFC is 09955. What does that mean?

EDIT Again: I see my EFC is 9,955. Is that considered a lot for USC?

Where do you guys see the status updates?!

May be a cynical question but how many times can one apply as a a transfer? If I could I’d try every semester until I can’t LOL.

Unknown:

How are the chances for a transfer student to architecture with a 3.35 GPA? I have 7 A’s, 3 B’s, 1 C that replaced a D (academic renewal). But the thing is, USC doesn’t honor academic renewal so my GPA dropped from 3.5 to around 3.35-3.4. I’m really stressed out even though the GPA average is 3.5 for the School of Architecture :(

@hmuzify

Relax, that’s the average GPA. Did you explain why you got a D? Either way, academic renewal shows good faith.

LOL @ Lullabies, I would do the same too.

I know one girl that transfered for her senior year + additional semester. she’s graduating next year!

@mike011x I told them how math is one of my few weaknesses. I took Trig twice, Calculus during summer, and precal now. First time I took trig I got a D, then calculus I got a B, second time with trig I got a C. Now I’m taking precal and I’m really aiming for an A, trying to attend tutoring sessions whenever I can! I explained how I aim to be a well rounded student. My grades are all excellent, its just math that’s pulling me down… And I explained how I never give up on weaknesses, which explains why I always retook math no matter how it affected my gpa.

hmuzify, i hope your portfolio is amazing, some kid got in with a 2.7 two years ago probably because of his portfolio!

@ScGal12 my portfolio isn’t OUT of this world. it shows my creative aspect rather than just designs and craftsmanship. Theme isn’t consistent, which is something that’s good in its way. I put 8 photography pieces, 1 photoshopped piece, 2 building models, 6 drawings. I have a letter of rec from the head of the art department and we have a really good bond. She liked me, so I hope its a really good letter :slight_smile: Also, I’m in international student from Kuwait but studying in San Diego. So I hope that doesn’t makes things difficult. My EC’s are good though, joined 2 charitable events and fully managed a design boutique for 2 summers in a row.
