<p>Apparently someone from the USC forums got an SGR (!!!)…</p>
<p>Does anyone know if they send SGR’s to every “freshman” or <30 unit applicant? Or is it, if you get denied because of a major deficiency where grades don’t matter and they’ll just not send one?</p>

<p>I Need Help!</p>
<p>I just dropped a class that I said I was going to take on the application. I took the drop with a W and it makes me 1 unit short of being full time. How do I report this to USC? How bad do you guys think this will hurt my chances? (it would be my second W and I’m a second year college student applying for sophomore status at USC Viterbi)</p>
<p>@mechancialengine I heard that 1 W is okay. but more than one is not acceptable. i would email the viterbi counseling office and let them know asap.</p>
<p>try contacting them via the portal on usconnect, also so you’d have a record of your conversation as opposed to calling them. because a 2nd W probably wouldn’t look too good, you should definitely explain why you had no choice but to drop the class. and who knows maybe they’ll brush it off (esp if its not a required/recommended course to transfer). it’s probably better you tell them ASAP, rather than them finding out later and withdrawing your acceptance (worst case scenario of course :P).</p>
<p>Out of curiosity. What did u guys write about in ur personal essays? Also for annenberg applicants, what did u guys write about in ur letter of intent? In my personal essay I talked about my desire to see the world and my fear of the human race becoming so consumed by there day to day lives that essentially one will become oblivious to the fact there is a whole world out there and it doesn’t stop at ones borders. In my annenberg letter I talked about my passion for writing and my aspiration to become a foreign correspondent and about how I felt the city of LA was the perfect place to study journalism simply because its progressive and the diversity is rich. I didn’t want to go with an extreme cliche about me me me and why im so hellbent about going to USC lol </p>
<p>p.s last month I visited the campus for the first time and it truly is a urban utopia I fell in love :D</p>

<p>I really couldn’t handle it for some reason. The teacher grades homework like test grades and refuses to collect it if you are late. I commute between two schools and sometimes I’m late for the class. It’s a once a week class which makes things worse. </p>
<p>Do you guys think it would be THAT bad if i don’t have differentials if I’m applying as a sophomore transfer? I have a 3.86 GPA and applying with 49 units. (49 including this spring semester with the exclusion of this W). Only two W’s. 1 in anthro and 1 in differentials. </p>
<p>Ahhhhhh i sorta regret dropping now…</p>
<p>I dont think that person got an SGR… I’m pretty sure they just got a request to submit their winter grades just like everyone else has to</p>
<p>Looking at the transfer acceptances some people got in the last week in march! I think the second batch came Out mid april and then all throughout may and june. I hope we a start receiving so accepctances soon</p>

<p>I mean USC’s comp sic program is ranked really high nationally i think it’s like number 10 or something and what I really got interested in was the research they’re doing in CS so if I get in i’ll definitely try and get into that.</p>
<p>Is the animation program a sub-major of CS?? or is it another program you’re double majoring in?</p>

<p>@sharontan1992: I think they’ll probably start anywhere from this coming week to two weeks from now (first week of April), at the latest most likely. I’d imagine they’re wrapping up the freshman decisions around now, maybe taking a week off, then starting on the transfers. Just a possibility.</p>
<p>I called two weeks ago and they said they would start reviewing them in 2 weeks. So NOW!</p>
<p>I believe someone said that there friends app was under review in the last two pages.</p>
<p>Another trend from the previous years is USC tends to date their letters on Fridays. </p>
<p>But I agree with you guys on the possibility of a few letters going out within the next few weeks.</p>
