Any of you guys rushing

@SCGal I’m 26 years old now. I’ve been at community college for awhile because I had to take a lot of time off from school to work full-time. It’s been a long journey to finally get to this point, and I’m just excited to finally have a fresh start at a new school.

I only just heard about the Trojan Transfer Plan recently, but don’t really know anything about it. Maybe because I didn’t apply right out of high school? That’s cool that you’re an English major, too! I’ve got my fingers crossed for both of us! :)

Edit: What a bummer that the status changed back to the same message. Oh well. It was a nice glimmer of hope for a short while. Looks like we’ve still got a long wait ahead of us…

@newchapter14
Wow, good for you! I really wish u the best with the process! what do you plan on doing after undergrad? and do you have any back up schools?

@everyone

My parent’s still haven’t filled out their taxes for 2012, they’re actually in the process of it and i know USC wanted the tax forms, is it okay if its late? I know they asked for it by march 2nd but my parents have an appointment

@MitchAPalooza,

Definitely planning on rushing. What about you?

@MitchAPalooza If I get in I will 100% rush.

@newchapter Did you have a parent who is an alumni at USC? How did you get that trojan transfer plan, it baffles me because there seems to be many cases.

@SCGal I’m definitely planning on going to grad school, so if I don’t get admitted to one of my top choices for undergrad, I guess there’s always the option of reapplying. I applied to a few schools: USC and UCLA are my top choices, I have a TAG with UCI, and I also applied to UCSD, UCB, and CSULB. The only school I’ve heard from so far is CSULB, and I was accepted there. I highly doubt I would go to LB, but it felt pretty good to be accepted since they’ve become so competitive recently! If I don’t get into LA or USC, I’d probably end up going to UCI. What are your backup schools?

Also, I think I had read earlier in the thread that someone called the Financial Aid Office about turning in their tax forms late, and apparently it was no big deal. I might have misread that though, so I would call the Financial Aid Office tomorrow to double check!

@ragingzero I’m not on the Trojan Transfer Plan, but SCGal is. She was just asking if I had heard of it. I’m curious to know more about it as well!

Trojan Transfer Plan is basically a plan set up between you and a counselor from USC about what classes you should take from your college in order to transfer into SC. it’s usually given to those that were rejected out of high school from USC that are legacies. there are certain circumstances where they offer TTP to non legacies as well but typically it’s for legacy students. I believe the goal GPA was 3.6 that was needed in order to guarantee a high chance of getting in as a transfer.

@ragingzero still missing transcripts too on status. sucks, sent it a month ago. guess it’s about time to call

@MitchAPalooza

Have you been to the frat row? I spent my spring break there and it was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had at college. And I’ve been at catholic school (Creighton) for St Patty’s day

@Texasfratstar Are you a guy? If so how did you get into fraternities? Did you know someone?

I haven’t personally partied with them but I have seen Frat Row. If accepted and if I did end up attending, I would definitely rush. I have read rushing as a Jr might have some drawbacks; however, I still intend to participate.

Any of you catch the Rolling Stones article about hazing at Dartmouth? Pretty crazy stuff.

I’m definitely rushing. I’m going to sigma chi’s derby days tomorrow and going to all of these frat events makes me want to go there even more -__-

Guys the 16.6% that james mentioned was from last years transfer applicant pool not this years. That number came out in an article in the Daily Trojan last semester. However, I’m not sure where that number came from because the 2012 transfer brochure says 27%. And btw good luck with the upcoming decisions :)

@Mitch,

Damn, just read that article… pretty nuts.

hey guys, sort of off topic here, but i’m a potential 2013 transfer, and i understand that usc doesn’t transfer credits for remediated classes, but they do calculate the first grade into your overall GPA. would having an F on my transcripts really affect me that much, even if i have a high enough GPA?

i would think so

@Mitch

This? [Confessions of an Ivy League Frat Boy: Inside Dartmouth’s Hazing Abuses | Culture News | Rolling Stone](Dartmouth’s Hazing Abuses: Confessions of an Ivy League Frat Boy – Rolling Stone)

Movie guy- honestly you don’t know it could or could not affect you also it depends what major you’re applying for next year if it’s marshall hmm tough because seems like everyone is a Marshall applicant, it’s all based on competition but if you’re applying for something in clas maybe it wouldn’t affect you as much…anyone else have anything to say?

Usc calculates classes like intermediate algebra into a persons gpa?

this is about college transcripts, right? im pretty sure they calculate everything into your overall GPA
