See, I told y’all! Congrats to the SGRs. I guess I need to start looking at my other options.

I got excited for nothing … lol

@RandomNewGuy what level will you be? If didnt expect a SGR, then you probably won’t need one… Besides your transcript probably is more assuring than mine.

We still have one month to go! Never lose hope! Lol

I didn’t get an SGR @Randomnewguy

But I am a junior transfer so hopefully I can get in without one. Guys, especially the Annenberg applicants. What would you pick?

Boston University’s COM program for advertising (which is one of the best in the country) vs USC Annenberg’s “communication program.” BU is way more hands on and is giving me great aid. USC might not give me much but I love USC. If I get in that would be a tough decision. Any advice?

It would all come down to the aid for me most likely. Both are great schools.

I would presumably be a junior. I have over 70 credits at my two-year institution. I don’t think all of them will transfer, though.

Hm… I have yet to receive an SGR. Guess this confirms what I thought… I’m just so awesome that they decided to accept me on the spot! Hehehehehhehehehehehehehehe… -cries-

@that1guyy Congrats at getting into BU! If I were you I would wait and see if you get into USC and compare the aid that they’re offering you. I hear USC is great at pushing their students to forge contacts with companies so you have somewhere to go after you graduate. I don’t know too much about BU though. In the end pick the school which seems to offer you the degree and course that best suits you! Especially if you decide to go to grad school, your undergrad won’t matter as much - as far as prestige goes. That’s just my opinion anyway!

Hi guys!

I just found this thread and was reading the last few pages… I’m a bit confused.

What’s SRG and Oasis? What does getting a SRG mean? And does being able to log onto Oasis mean anything?

Thanks!

I could log into oasis in october it means nothing unfortuneatly

Not to stir things up but I have been able to log in to Oasis for the past few months. I think it means nothing.
Also, a friend (athlete) was told by a coach that he is in, accepted, but he will not get his letter until June. The coach said that he will be asked for his spring grades, not sure if they will ask formally with a SGR or they will ask for his final cc transcript. I think they just want to make sure his grades are still good. So, I know of someone who has been accepted, nothing has changed on USC connect and no formal SGR has been made.
Not sure what it means for us but…

I have noticed that some of you don’t understand how SGR’s work. To clarify this, i’ll inform you with what my advisor once told me. SGR’s are only for people with less than the required transferable semester credits needed to be considered for acceptance at USC and the inner schools that require more. It does not matter what grade you are in, but yes it is more likely you will get an SGR if you are a freshmen or spring term sophomore because of how many credits you are able to attain by the time you apply. Also getting an SGR does not necessarily mean you have a high chance of acceptance, it often means they can’t make a decision on your application until they see that you have met the requirements. Of course there are exceptions (e.g. given how competitive SCA is, if they ask for an SGR, then you know they see you as a potential candidate) With that being said, I hope this helps and good luck to us all!

Idk how true that is, considering nothing I’m taking this semester is a GE or anything… I simply listed what I was taking on my common app and apparently they still want to see anyway.

I just looked on oasis under financial aid document status and it says “status as of 05/01/13” and then lists the documents that they have. Before now whenever I clicked on the 2013-2014 button it always said ‘sorry unavailable’, so yup, it’s reviewing time, people!

@chloe316 I noticed that as well today. Status as of 05/01/13, and previously it wouldn’t let me click it. This is the MONTH!

:o

!!!

I don’t want to be “that guy” but I think we already knew this was the month lol.

…but…you are that1guyy…

lol please excuse my dry humor

Weird, I am able to access oasis and web reg now and am able to put classes into the class bin and it says I have no activity restrictions on oasis. Who knows lol

This appears on web reg for me:

“Before you can use the Web Registration system you must obtain a registration appointment time from the Registration Department. Please email us at mailto:register@usc.edu from your USC email account or from your personal email account and include a scanned copy of your driver’s license or passport (so we can verify your identity). We will need your USC ID number and the semester for which you want to register.”
