I like false hope better than no hope. Rather have a dream they can crush rather than no dream at all.

@jr true but that doesn’t mean we should get our hopes up cause it could literally mean nothing … hopefully it does mean something but no point in getting disappointing … didn’t last year people that could log onto both get rejected either way ? and last year the app status check was “We will be reviewing through the month of March” why is it May for us this year ? -_-" if it wasn’t we would be having some decisions already !

I’m wondering if the admission office has started sending out decisions

@coreyalexander2 I think it’s a really good sign! It still means they’re interested, in my opinion.

Can someone tell me what an SGR looks like? I THINK I got one?

@Sparkles7 Why don’t you just check your USConnect under the Application Status Check tab? It will tell you if you received one or not.

Just got an SGR, and I have to say that I’m really disappointed about it. I was hoping that I would get my answer by June 3, and since I’ve done 2 years of community college and have a 3.87 GPA I really don’t see why they need my spring grades. I have some other really good schools that I got accepted to and need to enroll in by June, so it looks like USC won’t be an option for me. Personally, I think it’s really inconsiderate and arrogant that they think they can just make people wait until mid-July to make an admissions offer.

@film Inconsiderate, maybe. Arrogant, no. It would be the equivalent of a waitlist for a school. Not something you WANT to be on, but its better to be on it than outright rejected. Maybe they have a couple candidates you are fighting for a spot with and they want to be certain of their decision.

Hi, so I got this in an email today:

Thank you for your interest in USC. The university is reviewing applications for transfer admission. Your application file is currently incomplete. We appear to be missing the following information:
-
Current transcript from XXXX College

If you have an unofficial copy the transcript, please feel free to forward to my attention at the fax below by Friday, May 10th.

I am 100% positive that they have my transcript on file as I have called on it several times before because there was a prior issue with them receiving it. Any one have any input on what this might mean? Or am I just stressing over nothing? I am happy that they are finally reviewing my app though! :)

I had the same e-mail in regards to my high school transcript several weeks ago. It was an administrative glitch, but I was also hopeful that it meant they were reviewing my application. Le sigh. :(

lol I’m only getting emails from financial aid -_-" cause of my situation they keep asking me for more crap … sigh …

What situation? It is good you are getting emails. That has to mean admissions is at least considering you.

They’re just asking me for reasons about my mother federal benefits and that my application is complete and then wait it’s not complete cause we need more info about this blah blah blah. I don’t think it has much to do with admissions … admissions hasn’t said shiat to me except “Gere is your log in now monitor your USC connect and be in suspense till … June-ish maybe July if you’re unlucky.”

@filmandwriting, what school are you applying for?

Financial Aid contacted me back in February for more information, but my paper trail is rather easy and simple. At age 29, my parents aren’t part of the equation.

@wheere2now I got the same thing last month. They told me I was missing the most recent semester coursework. So I decide to drive and bring it to USC to make sure they receive it, FAST. It turns out, I took a class at a different cc during summer, and I send that transcript in, which they received. But for some reason, I was register for the fall classes as well, even though I didn’t take any classes there. They told me they just want to make sure I didn’t miss sending in anything. I don’t know if it helps, but this is what happen to me.

@alaintran09 I have a transcript request under admission documents, not application status check. Just wondering if you know whether or not that is referring to my spring transcript like an SGR would

@Sparkles7 If it’s under the required documents then maybe they don’t your transcript on file? That’s the only thing I could think of. You should give them a call.

“We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”

I was hoping to NOT have a request for the SGR…

Groans. Fingers still crossed for everyone on this discussion board.

@JigglyJello THANK YOU for copy pasting that, I have that written in application status check and just noticed it now… So this transcript request is for spring grades.

@alaintran09 Thank you for replying and trying to help me out I appreciate it.

To everyone else who wants to know or is curious I got an SGR for sure :)
