Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

@2016collegegirl Awesome!! Have you had any recent updates? I’m just wondering if Keck has started reviewing applications because my app looks like it hasn’t been touched lol

Did anyone apply to USC’s school of Architecture? If so, any results?

HeartyBowl - couldn’t reply to you in PM, but I’m business admin.

@wittyxfername What 4 year are you currently at? And what is your GPA?

@wittyxfername I hope that’s the case… being that I’m at a CC and I’ve maintained above a 3.5.

@witty, what do you think you can get this spring and what are you currently taking?

Any Annenberg applicant here? Any acceptance?

@harry188 No i was not … no honor classes or honor programs … lol
@witty … you sure ? i talked to adminssions they said as long as you don’t get anything lower than a C and pass all your classes your good …

@whitty maintain whatever they tell you to maintain or they will rescind you

@futureMD10 & @2016collegegirl

I applied to Keck HPDP, pre-med and just got accepted this morning! I too have been going crazy; same symptoms: refreshing 5+ tabs on collegeconfidential and uscconnect/oasis, camping by the mailbox, unable to concentrate in school, no sleep. But I sincerely mean it when I say that things will work out in the end, and your decisions will surely come!

I know you’re curious and will eventually ask anyways:
Stats: 3.8 GPA, junior transfer (tho it says soph for now…), CCC, pre-med (everything but physics done)

  1. On Tues 7th, USC admissions rep for my region sends personal email for my winter 2013 quarter grades. I replied a day later with a downward trend of 3.76 and a letter explaining family hardships.
  2. Checked my connect on Thurs 9th and my boxes change. Oasis prepared on the 7th.
  3. Early Fri 10th in the morning, “letter has been mailed.”
  4. This morning: official decision letter and my boxes work!
    Other acceptance: UCLA, UCSD, UCD, uMich
    I’m sharing to help break the stereotype of super competitive pre-meds that try and screw others over. You guys are my peers, and I hope for the best. Plus we need to stick together when we transfer right? ;D

Hang on in there. Your time will come too! may the force be with you.

@Dm1993 - I’d rather not specify exactly, but I’m at a top 5 school on US News and I have a 3.61

@tomred - I’m taking just mandatory classes/our equivalent of GE, and I think I have the potential to pull off a 3.5-3.6, but finals have to go my way.

@Transfer2OI3/TexansFan - Not sure what to take from those two comments haha. Probably should just go for the 3.5 and hope for the best I suppose. Can’t hurt me in the long run to get a higher GPA anyway ;)

@wittyxfername exactly lol! just stay on your path.

Has anyone heard back from viterbi yet?

@MHC0010 I haven’t heard back from Viterbi yet…

Glad to know I’m not the only one. This wait is killing me

Speaking of stereotypical pre-meds, do any of you guys know if USC has the same grading curves for their science classes as UCLA? Because at LA and the other UCs, they employ the grading method in which only about 17% of students will get A’s.

VITERBI NEEDS TO REPLY!
I applied as a transfer last year, and they replied on may 25th 2012, so I’m expecting viterbi decisions to come out around the same time!

what do u think was the reason u didnt get in last year?
