Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Dude!!! @dm congrats!!!

what do you mean by no oasis/no webreg? as in you couldn’t log in or you didn’t have the stuff everyone else said they did??

I’m so jelly of everyone who got accepted =[

Hey guys, so Im going to University of Alabama in the fall, but it was a fall back for me, so I’d like to transfer to either Miami U or USC. I was going to Rush in Alabama, but I had a few questions first.

Lets say I pledge Kappa Kappa Gamma at Alabama and I get a bid and become a sister. Does that mean if I transfer to USC that I will automatically be in the sorority and I can join them as their sister? If not is there any type of special initiation I have to go through or something? Same thing goes for if I pledge Delta Gamma and go to Miami.

As I go to Alabama, I will be looking at the sororities that are offered at USC and Miami. Is it smarter for me to just not Rush there are all and wait until I get to whichever College I end up getting into as a transfer?

If I proceed with question 2, is USC really pickey about sophomore pledges? I really love Kappa Kappa Gamma there as I have visited, loved the girls, and love their philanthropy. I know Alabama doesn’t really like sophomore pledges and it can sometimes be harder to get in if youre older. Is it the same at USC or Miami? Because if so then maybe it would be better to rush Kappa at Alabama, and If I get it then I can use it at USC or if not, then ill just have to try sophomore year. – if you could also answer this question for Miami too please!

@sm119sm I have had two friends from my college pledge Gamma Phi Beta and become a sister then transfer easily to USC! I think you should just do it at your college you are at now because not saying you aren’t sorority girl quality but USC makes it wayyyyyy harder to get into top sororities (according to my friends) and if you are in it at your other school and transfer over you can automatically become a BIG! and move in the houses over the summer its great

I love my Big and my Little.

Lol

Congrats @DM!

@HeartyBowl, I did get in last year!I applied as BioE. I chose to stay another year at my CC cuz it was my first year there, so i was admitted to usc as a soph. It was basically a financial decision. I didnt want to pay tuition for 3 years.

@drewby235, I heard back from them through USC connect. I was actually on vacation in Asia at the time so I kept on checking the website whenever i had internet access haha. My dad (who was at home) received the letter in the mail about 3 days after I found out that i got in.

Got accepted, Business administration Major. My stats are on my other posts.

@futureMD10 don’t worry, i’m sure you’ll hear soon! i received an SGR the beginning of may since i’m a sophomore transfer. so my spring semester is coming to an end and grades should be final in 2 weeks, so i’m hoping i can submit it ASAP! i wonder how keck looks at admissions, haven’t heard anything about them but my second choice major is dornsife so whatever works hahaha.

@TrojanTransfer13 CONGRATS!!! that is awesome, thanks for the encouragement! we’re all in the same boat. may i ask what area of medicine are you interested in? i applied for HPDP too since it’s a pretty broad major, much prefer it over bio. were you under the trojan transfer plan?

@ferrari1993 That’s so cool! Did the enrollment deposit box pop-up on USC Connect? Fight On! I hope we will all be fellow engineers at Viterbi next Fall!

@uscgirl @tomred Thank you.

@uscgirl I could log into both but I did not have all the class info stuff everyone else said that they had on their oasis

So, I sent my spring grades in 3 days ago. Does anyone have an idea when I’ll hear back?

AHHHHH I GOT IN!!! i’m in shock right now, I have no idea how I got in without an SGR. i’m a freshman with only 1 credit towards my major during the first semester, and I won’t even be that major if I go to USC.

thank you so much to everyone who kept me company and most importantly kept me sane on here lol <3

p.s. don’t know if this has already been said but the package is yellow :)

Stats
College transferring from: Texas Christian University
Entering as: Sophomore…I think? it says “Class level: transferring freshman”…that still means i’m going in as a sophomore right?
GPA:3.96
Pre-reqs & GE: I think I have all of the GE’s and the pre-reqs for my major done that I could, but i’m not sure if they transfer since my school doesn’t have a full articulation history
Essay: I think it was a solidly written essay but it didn’t have a hook or anything. It was very USC-oriented and I talked about how USC is the perfect fit for me.

@bubbletea94 Congrats!! I’m in the same boat as you and I have no idea how I got in without an SGR as well! Guess we’re just so awesome!

@beachpony yay congrats!! lol that’s definitely the case  do you know if you’re going to USC for sure?

just checked uscconect and still no status change or enrollment boxes lol. weird.

@bubbletea94
your annenberg right!?

nope, Dornsife International Relations :)

Congrats to the both of you guys!! How much longer did the package take to arrive to your houses after you guys found out you were accepted?

@alain Thank you! My package was the first time I found out haha. nothing on usconnect for me…very strange. the letter in my package says “Admissions details as of May 7, 2013” though. so it’s taken about 4 days since they finished deciding I guess you could say.

does anyone know when we are supposed to hear about our financial aid? mine is still in review on usconnect.

Congrats to those of you who have been admitted. Just wondering any Annenberg applicant here? I have nothing right now and is so worried.

@bubbletea94 What is the date that is marked on your acceptance letter? I can access a PDF of my acceptance letter on Connect and it was marked on the 8th. I’ve been hunting down the mailman since then and I’m just way anxious to hold that envelope LOL
My friend that goes to USC said that he received his financial aid letter around two weeks after his acceptance.
