I was part of several clubs on campus and also part of student government.

I was just on the baseball team and phi theta kappa… Lol @RandomNewGuy I’d say you’re a lock for SC.

I feel your pain. When I was 20-years-old, I injured my back lifting furniture at Target. I had to go to physical therapy and everything. To be completely unable to move, lying motionless on the ground in total pain is one of the scariest things I will ever remember. It hurts just thinking about it. The ambulance ride was pretty scary.

I wrote a little bit about lingering in retail management for most of my twenties, but to be honest, that subject depresses even me and I didn’t want to make the Admissions staff weep like they just read a Nicholas Sparks novel.

I was managing for GameStop, Hollywood Video, Barnes & Noble, etc. And then at age 27, I had one of those “OH **** I’M GOING TO BE THIRTY AND WORKING RETAIL” moments. So I pulled myself together and went back to school. Started dating my future fianc

@randomnewguy “i didn’t want to make the admissions staff weep like they just read a nicholas sparks novel” haha!!!

@tomred I’m sorry if what I say don’t add up, True last year 2012 there were almost 9000 students that applied as transfer and around 2500-3000 got admitted. On my transfer packet it says …
"You will be part of a very select group: the 2,800 diverse, blah blah blah.

You stood out among more than 48,000 other applicants because blah blah blah

We look forward to working with you over the next FOUR years, blah blah blah"

So them stating FOUR years kinda says the 48,000 are all the applicants i believe or they’re only showing freshman stats if, as you say, last year there were 47,000 freshmen students that applied. For the 5% I was purely speculating 2,800/48,000 but then USC would NEVER have a 5% acceptance rate … lol Sorry if I startled you.

Jeez, that acceptance letter copy sounds like you just enlisted in the Marine Corps.

YOU ARE ONE OF THE FEW, THE PROUD, A MEMBER OF THE NCAA DIVISION-I TEAM THAT CANNOT GENERATE A LEGITIMATE NFL STARTER.

Just kidding, USC Admissions. Trojans are awesome. For reference, my name is MATT BARKLEY.

Hahaha @RandomNewGuy I’m a retail manager, I’ve had that exact moment.

@transfer, it sounds like your letter was the exact one that the high school applicants got. I’m guessing since you were admitted earlier than the usual that, that is the only letters they have prepared. Because I’ve seen transfer ones before and I’m pretty sure it is transfer student specific. No big deal lol but yeah 48,000 transfer hopefuls did upset me haha.

Lol, maybe they sent out the wrong information packet with his acceptance.

@Marty idk maybe

@randomnewguy - Rememver it’s a private school and they strive for diversity (age too). Also I looked at last years acceptance rate in the transfer brochure and it was 33%. That’s a 1/3 transfer for all of us people! Maybe a little higher or a little lower, but close.

So my school sent my transcripts to USC on tuesday night which means wednesday of last week and USC connect is still saying that I have a spring grade request and hasn’t updated my usc connect! I’m nervous and wondering if maybe they didn’t get my transcipts or if it takes longer than a week since it sent out for them to process it and what not.

@tomred and marty I think tomred is right because they don’t have anything ready for transfers cause it isn’t june 1st … I don’t think it was a mistake though … lol hopefully not but all the other papers state the correct things … except im a sophomore because i have 57 units when applied and 69 at the end of this sem which will put me at junior standing so don’t be alarmed when your grade is lower then what you were transferring in as …

Ya, but the information packet itself lol, not the papers that were specific to you.

Just got my acceptance packet in the mail! I still don’t have any notification in USConnect so I’d pretty much convinced myself I was going to be rejected, lol. I was also surprised that I wasn’t SGR’ed since I’m a freshman taking all USC prereqs this semester…but I’m not complaining.

@sierrag95 what is your major?

@Glorialulu911 Poli Sci

I’m 43, I may be the oldest on this thread hoping for an acceptance package.

If USC admissions wants diversity, I’m your guy! ;)

Just wondering did any Psychology majors get accepted yet? I am yet to receive an SGR but turned in my winter grades 6 weeks ago and received a 4.0 putting me at a 3.56 cumulative, coming from a UC. I had friends transfer as sophomores last year from my school but they got SGR’d by now, maybe I didn’t because I am a junior transfer.

Just got my transcript with spring grades sent. Gasp. Lol. Send good wishes to tomred.
