@shelbydwhite Thanks for the information.

So there’s a message before I log into my USConnect saying my Finaid package link is unavailable today from 1-4pm. Then it says: You may also review your financial aid award, if available, by logging in and selecting “Financial Aid Awards”. Does this mean anything or am I overthinking it…?

@tomred
Most applicants period get SGR. The faster you get the grades in, the faster you get a decision. That’s where they get spring admits from in most cases. Trust me, i have first hand experience.

@Everyone
People who got SGR and didn’t turn in their grades until the last minutes, a lot of them get deferred to spring because they have filled up their entering transfer fall class, then they fill December graduating spots with spring admits. There are rare occasions if you have stellar stats then they will squeeze you in for fall at the last minute. That happened to a friend of mine.

So there is hope :)

So, since I’m a Film Prod. applicant and I haven’t been asked about an SGR, does this mean I won’t need one at all since the letters are going out this week?

Just got an SGR. Dornsife applicant for Narrative Studies. How do I go about sending this? I don’t want to wait until the letter in the mail comes with instructions.

@Shelby, soo the majority of the 8,000 plus all get SGR’s? Not many just straight rejections? I’ve never heard that before. Interesting.

@elysekhill I would imagine you just send your transcript to admissions like you did the first time. Not like they are going to have a special address just for SGRs.

@redcap

The SCA rep just told me that they are sending out decisions for production this week. This may mean admission will be notified, but you still have to pass by them. Basically SCA will be giving admissions the okay to certain applicants to accept. You may still have to go through SGR because USC might need more academic info to solidify that you meet their requirements. It’s also possible that you get straight acceptance. It depends on if USC admissions is ready to admit you, not just SCA.

It’s a big week for us SCA Production and Dornsife applicants. Lets keep up the good vibes and hope we all get in to at the very least our second choice major! I got an acceptance letter last night, but then I woke up and realized it was a dream…hopefully a good sign lol

@shelbydwhite do you know when will they send out the letter for school of dramatic art??

So, are SGR’s good orrrr?

@transferangel

They said the beginning of June. Takes them a while to go through apps, especially auditions.

@Glorialulu911 apply for comm, and PR, hear nothing from Annenberg.
I believe we still have a long wait!

@shelbydwhite Have you managed to talk to an adviser from ever school in USC? lol

@Transfer2OI3 I am actually a Psych Major Bio Minor where I am so plan to be a natural sciences minor at USC, but I want to go to USC because they have the PA program for grad school I want so I am just completing the requirements with my minor, and Psych has always been a passion of mines its just interesting to me!

Btw to everyone I called Dornsife Admissions instead of the general USC admissions like @shelbydwhite stated and there was NO wait time so it’s much better and they can answer the same questions. I spoke to a girl named Jennifer I believe and she said most SGR’s should have been sent out by now and decisions started getting sent out late last week so if you didn’t get one most likely you are a junior applicant or they can base a decision based off what you already provided according to her! And like some people already said Oasis isn’t an indicator of ANYTHING, she even sounded dumbfounded when I asked her about it lol she said the only indicator of a decision would be through the mail and later our usconnect.

Hi. So I have been lurking on this page for a good two weeks now seeing as I am on the verge of anxiety…It seems to me a lot of people are getting SGRs even though they have high GPAs…

I applied to Marshall with a 3.7, strong essays, and a good letter of rec.

Is it farfetched that they would accept me without asking for spring grades?

@sweet there’s been crazier situations… But I’m going to be in the same boat next year I’m sure

So could I call dornsife to check on my faxed transcript I sent today? Or would that be USC admin?

@tomred Call admissions since that’s where you faxed it too, they can tell you right away if/when they got it.
