No jinx. He’s a stellar candidate. His EC’s along his writing is obvious. tomred doesn’t have that power anyway. Lol

I don’t know. It’s May 14th. No SGR. No changes to USC Connect. Lane Kiffin hasn’t accepted my offer to haul equipment for admission. The lack of communication with the communication program is communicating a lot of disinterest in my communication skills. Plus, now I’m jinxed!

… Oh well, I’m going to suck down Red Bull all night and study for my Espa

Lane Kiffin lmao. Lane Kiffin, jinxed RandomNewGuy, tomred andd Matt Barkley.

Marshall applicant here and no sgr or acceptance/rejection. Either i’m screwed or they have a ton of applicants to review…sigh

Wait, so if we take a winter intersession class, they don’t need an SGR and it would straight accept/rejection? Makes me want to do winter at a gulp state school

Annenberg applicant here and still nothing. Anyone also in the same situation???Just wondering when can I heard back?

@fromsctola, I sent my winter grades and I am at junior standing and I received SGR

@idea mind if I ask your stats?

GPA: 3.7
Major: double major on global business and psychology
Units: 125, I took more than 20 units in some quarters with permission
I guess the strongest thing I have is that Im asian but I was born in South America, so I can speak 3 languages…

I was wondering if someone got rejected yet, from this it looks like that the rejections are going to come from those who received SGR

Do they actually send out many early rejections tho, or just batch process them all at the end? I’d assume a number of the rejections will also have to be from those of us who’ve heard nothing. I haven’t seen anyone who got rejected report to this thread yet, but it could be that people who’ve gotten rejected thus far aren’t on this site.

There would obviously have to be a pretty huge portion that get straight rejected. Not just some SGR’s. And yeah you could be right about there already have been that just aren’t on this site. It seems that this a pretty successful board yearly. Idk why they would wait to send the reject letters out though.

Because Lane Kiffin is an *******.

Just kidding, Lane Kiffin. I love you, bro.

Hi! I introduced myself a couple pages back, but no one answered my question amidst all of the excitement and other questions…

I said: “I have an “Enrollment Commitment Deposit” box (and the Fall/Spring Admits Facebook boxes)!!! I know that you all pretty positive that this ensures acceptance, but I don’t want to get my hopes up even higher until I have the acceptance letter (hopefully) in my hands.

I was just wondering, has anyone who has received the “Enrollment Commitment Deposit” box ever been rejected?”

There is Hope for You All!!

Got my SGR today and I don’t have some crazy GPA.

Applied to Marshall and 2nd choice of Dornsife for Economics.
I am bummed that they didn’t state if the SGR was for Marshall or Dornsife. Either way here are the stats to shed some hope:

3.55 GPA cumulative
I have honestly already graduated a CCC with an AA, went to a trade school and received another AS, worked full time for the last 2.5 years including now and am back at a different CCC and completing my 3rd semester, so I have completed about 100 units at community college and transferring as a junior (I am 24). All pre req’s completed besides what I have in progress for Marshall: business calc, Financial acct, micro econ, and computer info systems.

I think my tipping point was two phenomenal letters of recommendation. One from my Econ teacher and the other from my current employer who is a very distinguished physician.

Wrote what I thought to be a very motivational letter about my love for business and how I feel USC will allow me to grow into the professional I want to be, given the education and resources they can provide.

Hope this helps someone out there… Unfortunately now comes the scary part of making sure all spring grades are A’s, the stress continues…

Anyone have questions or comments just let me know.

Did anyone else send their winter grades and received SGR?

Fight On, Lane Kiffin. Also have I mentioned lately how the USC admissions committee is the best in the nation? I love USC admissions.

@MissOptimistic I personally have not seen anyone get rejected once they have received the enrollment box. I think we’ve established numerous times that if you have the box, you’re in.

@tomred Ok, so we should be hearing soon then! 1-2 weeks is pretty good, I can deal with that.
I think it helps that we turned our grades in relatively fast.

Dear USC Admissions,
I saw you at that mixer last Saturday. You were pretty smokin’, with your designer shirt and appropriately sexy hair style. I was all like, “Hey, is that US- no way! Can’t be, she’s lost like eight, no maybe ten pounds! Damn, she looks goooood.”

Don’t believe me? You can ask my wingman, Tommy “Trojan” Red. He was there, flashing those white veneers at potential employers, impressing them with his knowledge of Lane Kiffin’s eating habits. What, we’re not supposed to know that? Too bad, we do. He eats birthday cake all the time. Guess what? I’m a boss at baking cakes. I will bake the hell out of a cake for Lane Kiffin.

I know what you’re saying, “Hey, RandomNewGuy, you’re being ridiculous. This is not going to increase the likelihood of receiving your decision letter next week.”

But I know what you’re really trying to say, USC Admissions. You’re trying to say, “Aww yeah, RandomNewGuy, you are ridiculous… ridiculously awesome. Now get that pasty butt of yours back in that unisex kitchen and bake me rhubarb-mascarpone mousse cake.”

I laugh it off and we hold hands as we walk to my 27" Vizio HDTV and watch Season 1 of FarScape. That’s right… FarScape. I know what my girl likes.

Let’s do this, USC Admissions. Me and you.

It’s business time.

Yours,
RandomNewGuy
