Depends on your age. USC is one of the few universities that I would take on the debt for because it has such a strong alumni network and the opportunities for graduates far exceeds what you’d find at other places. Even at age 29, I’m more apt to assume the debt at USC because I feel my job prospects would probably be worth the investment.

As is the case for everyone, your mileage may vary. I am one of those people that know if I can get an institution to open some doors, I will seize any and all opportunities. If you’re just going through the motions and not a very engaged person, spending a ton on college is probably stupid. Don’t misinterpret that as intelligence, which I assume almost all in this thread are in ample supply of.

Hey guys I have never posted in here before just followed the thread, but it seems like you all have a better handle on what’s going on with usconnect and stuff than I do. I’m a sophomore transfer with a 3.75 average GPA transferring from a large state school in california. Applied to Marshall first choice and Viterbi second choice, but have had absolutely no progress other than my financial aid status box reading “application in review”. No SGR no enrollment box. My USConnect has been the same for months. I can access OASIS but that doesn’t seem to mean anything.

I guess my question is, if I’ve had absolutely no progress on any of this and Marshall seems to have been very active with their decisions on this thread already, am I pretty much out of luck? Is anyone else a Marshall applicant who hasn’t received a SGR and/or a decision?

@sdguy1394 - No just because you have not seen any progress, it does not indiciate that you are not accepted. USC has over 8,000 applications to thoroughly examine and consider. Both the inside schools and the overall admissions committee have to revise your application. The deadline for notification is June 3rd, which means we have 2 weeks and 4 days. Also not everyone whose already received an acceptance has gotten an enrollment deposit box or SGR.

I think that the admission office send out letter to the good applicants and wait for their response back first. That way, they know if they are going to SC or going to a different college. They don’t want to rejected most of the applicants so that they have room to fill up their school and not loss any revenue. Maybe that’s why some of us will wait longer to hear back. I dont know guys. That’s just my theory. I could be totally wrong. :(

No movement for me, but when I checked my Financial Aid status in OASIS today, it went from “Status as of 05/01/2013” to “Status as of 05/15/2013.” Exciting. :(

@randomnewguy - I know oasis doesn’t mean much, but I am curious to check mine. How do you see your financial aid status inside oasis? All I see is three big boxes for each semester and then the ability to add classes.

Top click menu, selected Financial Information and you should be able to see Summary and Status. I don’t have a summary, because, well, USC has clearly decided to use my application for bird cage liner, but I have been able to view Status for quite some time.
