i’m already preparing myself to apply to san jose state for spring 2014. wishing that i had applied last year

haha same here but ucla

^ the ultimate USC betrayal…

Don’t bRUIN your life dude.

ahah i feel like thats why im.not gunna get accepted is because my dad graduated USC with a business degree but then went and graduated UCLA law… they see my dad as a traitor and are taking it out on his son!

Hey y’all.

For those who got accepted, can you guys access the link on usconnect for Enrollment Commitment Deposit? When I click on it, it just says “Thank you. This site is not open to public access”

da ***

@d0pamine Give it a couple days for them to process everything. I experienced that same problem and it opened up two days later.

I just received an email saying that my financial aid package has been completed and when I check my connect financial aid tab it says my application has been completed also and that I could check my awards on “USC Financial Planner”, yet it gives me an error when I click on the link… Does anyone else have this problem?

@alaintran9 thank you!

do applicants who do not apply for financial aid have a higher chance of acceptance than those who do?

I do believe USC is need blind, so I don’t think that’s really relevant.

Forget my last post. Financial aid award finally received.

@alain, how is your aid package? Is it as good as you hoped?

@tomred It was not as good as I hoped. The Net Price Calculator and what I actually received had a difference of about $7,000, but I knew I could not rely on the NPC for an actual estimate. I received about 28k in University Grant.

@alain, I wondered about that calculator. On the calculator did you have all your info pretty much right? So after the 28 it’s just like loans?

@tomred Yeah it was pretty much all the same. Yep, loans, work-study, and what my parents can contribute out of pocket.

Ahh I see. So is it going to be good enough for you to attend?

Those calculator things never even work for independent students, if I got in any financial aid would be a pleasant surprise lol.

@m1ssmare, I’m 27, there’s a few of us geriatric applicants on here with you! ;)

That brings up a question. Would you rather pick a more "prestigious; university like USC but have to take out a significant amount of loans ($20-30k)vs a slightly less “prestigious” like BU but have very few loans? (under $7k).

30k loans definitely suck lol. Idk

@that1guy Exactly. I could attend chapman and take out around 8k in loans… Or attend USC and take out 20k.
