Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

@ beachpony what major?

That’s because they will most likely send out rejections after acceptances. Then they look at SGR’s… I would be guessing. Am I wrong?

My friend is transferring after one semester with a 3.8 and he got SGRd. Ec as a youth basketball coach at YMCA and tax intern. Have hope guys. We’re all gonna make it brahs

In my opinion, I think the straight rejections are the ones who don’t have the required classes completed or in progress in order to transfer with their intended major. If that makes sense lol

@Alain, makes sense. Wonder how many out of the 8,000 +, that is though?

@tomred Same. They need to release those statistics every year lol

I still have not heard or seen anything regarding my status.

Lol yeah they do.

@JR2013 Should that be submitted as “Additional Info?” Also, any idea what format it should be in? A resume?

yeaa well thats what i put my EC’s in when i forgot to list them on the commom app

I submitted my spring grades on 5/13. Sophomore Marshall applicant.

^ ummm well as EC’s go admissions don’t care that much for transfer students my regional counselors told me GPA is what really matters so don’t stress not having a lot or sending in late.

Edit : So said my counselors so don’t take my word for it lol

I dont know why a lot of counselors say that, my friend just got to Marshall with 3.3 GPA… so hurray for his gpa

i think if they are impressively unique EC’s they care but i mean listing feeding the homeless like im sure 7,000 probably do they wont care much

I shouldnt really say this, but he didnt really have an impressive EC…
But i remember his family was between the top 10 richest in Indonesia… I know money factors a lot

haha especially at usc. Money is the almighty lets be honest anyone who says no is fooling themselves. USC is about that cash flow

Hey guys. I applied to Annenberg and my heart is thumping in my mouth I’m so nervous! Stats:

Transferring from: CC
GPA: 3.3
Completed: GEs (met the 32 min requirement but doesn’t take the rest of my IGETC)
Units completed: 49
In progress: 15
Extracurricular: Former Miss Universe Contestant (African Country), TV host in my African Country and worked as TV host for a couple of TV stations here plus red carpet TV hosting in LA, NY, MIA, Goodwill Ambassador for Charity Organization for Physically Disabled in Africa, Tourism Ambassador for my country, worked at a big chain hotel (there’s more like modeling and advertisements for major brands but that’s all I stated- I regret it now). Moved here alone from my country to pursue Broadcasting career.
Letters of Recommendation: My professor and a USC professor that I interviewed while he was working in East Africa.

Have an Associates in Information Technology. 26 years old (yeah, I’m ancient compared to you 19 year olds, lol).

People keep saying I’m a shoo in because of achievements but my GPA isn’t the best. No SGR. No deposit box, etc. Called admissions and they said there was no decision on me yet but all docs are in. Applied for fin aid as an independent. I’m so nervous. Don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t get into Annenberg. So nervous!!! Good to know I’m not alone.

@M1smarre having a letter of rec from a proffesor at USC and just having most general ed done im sure will get you in depending on how long hes been a proffesor there. People have to realize this is USC and what works with them alot is not always what you know but rather who you know.

Thanks JR2013. I wish I could say that makes me feel better. LOL. Still nervous till I get that yes or no. U never know what could disqualify you. I’m depending heavily on that and my ECs. Problem with doing so much for me is not being able to maintain those 4.0 GPAs. Wish I’d pulled my socks up more now. Urgh! Are there any other 26 years or older people here or will I be the geriatric of my class if accepted? Not that I care. I’m “gone with the wind fabulous!” to quote Miss Moore. Hahaha!

Well, we have two weeks left guys. Let’s start the countdown. The wait is going to be over soon…
