<p>After reading a few pages back, I’m just going to point out that, as a person born and raised in Southern California, NO ONE ever calls it “Cali”. It just sounds so silly haha. Definitely the quickest way to point out that you’re not from here. </p>
<p>Also, please don’t say “The O.C” When you’re talking about Orange County. Along with the same reasons as above, it’s nothing like the T.V show.</p>

<p>I lived in SoCal for three years. I don’t think I ever really cared about being mistaken for a transplant. Most natives are over sensitive. I will wear my East Coast mannerisms like a badge of honor!</p>
<p>Also, oddly enough, I was never seriously involved with a woman that lived permanently in L.A. or the surrounding area. They were either there for school or I just randomly met then while passing by. Strangers in the night.</p>
<p>for anyone wondering, I just got my financial aid info. it’s been exactly a week since I got my acceptance letter. pretty quick I would say.</p>

<p>@laviet it is 6 digits and usc ID is 10 digit number…btw there r some students who cant log into it, one of mine friends already got the package but still cannot log into oasis. So dont worry too much .</p>
<p>I have a question.
So I just finished up my freshman year of community college. My first semester I got a 3.2 and I am still waiting on the results of this semester’s. I want to transfer to either UCSD or UCSC for cognitive science. I know that not many people apply to this major, so will that make it easier to get in to? Does anyone have experience in any similar situations?</p>

<p>@redcap wthell are you talking about … everyone says california, cali, socal blah blah … also YES we do call it the OC … born in cali and lived in cali for 18 years also lived in ATL for 4 years and we still call it cali over there … you just don’t say cali to other californians because you’ll say La, OC, The Bay Area, blah blah …</p>
