Official USC 2013 Transfer Thread

Stats? How many credits?

Stats:
Attending CCC
25 units at the time I applied (So I’m hoping to transfer as a sophomore)
GPA of 3.88
applied to Dornsife
Average ACT score (below average for USC) and subpar grades from high school (3.3)

@sophia so what do you do with your handwritten notes in class? do you have two copies of notes from class and review them with your flash cards?? thanks!!!

@beachpony i just got an email back and she told me apps are not reviewed in major order . but good for me she said she was looking at my file an i personally had to give her one today because technically it would be my junior year no matter the standing. so yeaaaa

There seriously needs to be a max number of times you can check your usconnect in one day.

@sam1994 Did your application status change after being sent a SGR? Also when did you specifically apply?

Yes, when i went on the application status check page it said that they sent me a sgr in the mail and that I should send my grades in by June 30th. I believe I applied at the end of January-- a week or so before the deadline.

@alaintran I would have maxed out by now lol

@JR2013 Ahh, ok. Thanks for the heads up. It’s a good thing you emailed them then! haha

anyone else feeling good about tomorrow? :stuck_out_tongue: I feel like we’re gonna hear some good news from Dornslife applicants!

Is it true that someone got rejected even with a 4.0 GPA on their SGR?

Hey guys! Those of you who are business majors applying to Marshall what math class did you take, business calc or regular calc. I’m going to apply this fall for 2014 and debating if I should take business calc or regular because USC accepts both but irvine wants 103 and 104, so don’t you think I’ll be on a safer side if I take 103 and it will go towards both schools… It just sucks that irvine wants 104 too

Your feedback will be helpful:)

bycity94 yes its true.

Who else is pumped for tomorrow being the first day of May? 1 month at the longest to go for most of us… And why would tomorrow be feeling good for dornsife applicants??

If we hear any good news, it’ll likely be on Friday after Admissions pushes out letters to transfers after spots open up tomorrow. But they won’t know how many people will decline until Thursday morning and the earliest I can imagine them readying decisions is 24 hours after that. I feel we are likely to hear stuff next week.

That just makes me so nervous knowing that even with a 4.0 I still might not get in.

I’m absolutely stoked that tomorrow is the first day of May. Just because we now know our application will be under review very very soon! I just hope I hear some news in the first wave.

My guess is that they have already reviewed a bunch of applications and have a pool of decisions standing by - just a matter of how many spots open up tomorrow. Good luck to all.

yea may is a good month goodluck everyone!

@RandomNewGuy Hopefully that’s the case!
