Freshman Marshall applicant. SGR today

You guys should be wanting acceptance letters instead of SGR’s! Obviously SGR’s are still a very good sign though.
One of my friends received an SGR last year and got accepted in mid July. I could only imagine how insane I would be waiting that much longer.
Who will be going into junior standing and received an SGR??

I’m a junior transfer to Dornsife and I just got a SGR.

I’m a junior transfer Dornslife applicant for Biochem/chem. I haven’t heard anything.
@P0laris do you kind sharing your stats?

I’ll be right under the junior level. I’m transferring from an out of state JUCO, where I was playing baseball.

Hah, I wish I had a SGR. All the cool kids are getting one and that means my application is now even more of a long shot.

@toofast what were you freshmen year stats? And hs also

@RandomNewGuy I don’t think that is necessarily true.
And students going in as junior standing, do you think you guys received SGR’s because you still have major pre reqs in progress?

I’m guessing I got one because even though I will be junior level, the start of my college transcript was a little bumpy… So I’m guessing they just want to see that my run of A’s is for real or not lol. Who knows.

@TomRed You got it!

@tomred dude just get a 4.0 this sem and you’re in for SURE lol … just found out 4.0’s do get rejected :(

For all that have gotten a SGR. Go try to log into USC oasis, because I now can. What is this? Probably nothing I guess. I couldn’t before today though.

@Transfer2OI3 But if you’re sent a SGR the reason for that is too see if you can pull off that 4.0 since there’s nothing else that can be added to your application at this point. From my opinion it’s hard to reject someone who gets a 4.0 with a SGR… But who knows what admissions can do.

Wonder what happens if you get a B in a non major random elective class?

@alaintran lol i didn’t get an SGR and hopefully I won’t lol I just got rejected from Emory with a 4.0 is what I was referring too =[ and just telling tomred congrats and gluck on maintaining 4.0 to insure his admit =]

@tomred … dude at this point just go for all A’s its always better being safe then sorry …

I do know I applied for Sociology and I will have two A’s in those classes this semester. I will have taken 12 hours of socio classes at my CC and will have a 4.0 in my major at least…

@Transfer2OI3 Yeah I get what you’re saying. Well isn’t Emory more difficult to get into than SC? I hope I get a straight acceptance but I can live with a SGR. I can’t picture myself getting an SGR because I’m only taking 13 units this semester , in which none of them are major pre reqs. Who knows though…

I don’t understand why everyone keeps trying to distinct their major grades from their cumulative GPA. As I am aware, USC cares about the WHOLE transcript not just the good grades you have in your major. Ergo get a 4.0 this sem major or not!

@alaintran ya its ranked 20 usnwr or whatever lol but I’m just kinda shocked people less qualified (imo although all applicants were pretty stellar) got in. Not heartbroken though, it was kind of a safety school because I didn’t really want to move ALL the way back to ATL (Being Naive), plus for business majors needed to stay a year and transfer to the BBA program -_-". Well there is that I live in Cali and the half-as*ed supplement i submitted lol. Why Emory? ummm why not ?

I’m on the same boat as you … just hoping for an early straight up acceptance =] gl
