Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@5nonnegotiables Yes, I live in Long Beach actually. Trust me, it would not hurt if you are a White female. I don’t think you even are required on the commonapp to state your race/ethnicity - I think it is an option. USC is a pretty diverse campus in regards to having many international students comparatively to other Private Universities. Race is a non-factor.

For the letter of rec, It might be too late. USC states they want all admissions documents to be sent as close to the application due date as possible. Honestly, I’d send it through USconnect but I don’t think it would hold any water since it was the student who uploaded it and not sent directly from the evaluator (verified by e-mail confirmation and registration by the evaluator).

I had three letters of rec; Ph.D holder and Economics chair at my CC whose son is a current USC student at Marshall, Philosophy professor who received his Ph.D from USC, and my English professor.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU

@RoysGoin2College-- It’s been a rough year, man. Definitely struggled with some social issues and didn’t really feel like I lived up to my potential. Felt like I settled for UC Davis which was an awful feeling.

@Trojifan131-- That’s relieving to hear. I applied to the Sol Price School of Public Policy and got scared by seeing that every major besides Marshall/Engineering had a foreign language requirement listed.

The anxiety is killing me guys. Just. Killing. Me.

Anybody else checking this and USConnect like 3 times a day now?

Yes, I’m starting to @wdemsters02 part of it is because I have nothing better to do, the other is all these decisions are making me anxious.

But I’ll survive.

I got rejection from UCB and UCLA, so USC is my last shot.
Can’t handle this anxiety

@bballprofessor23‌ I think it depends on an individual’s situation since they sometimes allow you to take it after transfer

@HopeForMarshall‌
I think theses letters of rec are impressive. Good luck

I received a phone call from one of the professors at USC SCA today asking to touch base and if I had any questions about the admissions process. Is this a good sign or irrelevant? Anyone know of this having any indication of acceptance in years past?

Just wonder know the situation… I got accepted by USC as Econ major, but for some financial problems I had to stay in CC for another year. For this year I apply USC again but I heard some of my friends said that I must be rejected this year cause I had “rejected” USC last year. I just wonder know if my previous decision will influence my current application or not? Btw I apply for Math Econ this year.

@lovemutton huh? Were you accepted or rejected last year? Even if you were rejected, I don’t think that would influence your decision simply because a lot changes in a year and you had to complete a different application for this year (which I am assuming was different from your application from last year).

@scahopeful‌ I got accepted last year. So it is why I am really curious and nervous the situation…

@hopefultrojan9‌

In my usc connect today I got a MSG (did u get as well?); and, when I opened it, it was a letter addressed to my home and basically said that…

The wait is so hard, but it’s honestly not that far away! In less than 5 weeks we’ll know.
Where do you all plan on living if you’re admitted?

@finefreshfierce‌ the Lorenzo without a doubt

@AirUpThere95 wow I just checked the Lorenzo out online and they’re amazing! I’ve visited 'SC multiple times but have yet to come across them…definitely added to my list though :slight_smile:

@Ftgirl‌ nooo I’m on semester system at a private school

@5nonnegotiables‌ I received that message as well! Just a few more weeks of waiting now :/

what does it mean if we didnt or havent gotten that message?

@fightingtitan‌ Yeah, it’s really nice. But according to yelp, the management there is terrible

@olo59u‌ Don’t worry about it.

@theyadoreyou‌ I feel like that’s something they must do with all applicants since its kind of a specialized school. I mean technically all majors are, but you know what I mean.
