I’m not expecting to get in, but I’m hoping to

got it. also, i applied for annenberg but also got in to asu cronkite j school, BU’s com and northeastern. if i dont get in to usc, opinions on what school i should pick?

I was checking out the 2013 thread in the pages around this time & it seems that SC is sending out sgr’s earlier this year. Also, enrollment boxes in USConnect started appearing early May & HEY, May is next week!
We’re almost there guys… =D>

I was wondering if anyone has heard of a case in which the Trojan Transfer Plan did not work. I go to a community college in southern California, and I know several people who have met the requirements/suggestions of the Trojan Transfer Plan. However, based on USC’s acceptance rate, it seems as if USC can’t accept all of us who have met the requirements/suggestions.

@5nonnegotiables Pretty good stats! I believe you have as good a chance as everybody! I have just about similar except one of my ECs/experience was Military (7 years Army, Infantry, SSG) and another was being a father/husband. Also, I applied to Marshall. A good thing is that you got a SGR and not a rejection; I am assuming if you get stellar grades for spring, you’ll be good to go. My logic being ‘Why else would they request Spring grades? Isn’t that the additional information that they need?’

@olo59u I have no clue about Communications schools other than my ex-girlfriend graduated from Annenberg. She was also a transfer from a California CC; She was a standout with near perfect grades and was Editor-in-chief of the school newspaper for three semesters, I believe. She used to get free tickets and access to the field during USC football games. She came up with tickets to UCLA-USC but she gave them to her sister - thats why we broke up…JK.

So far there are 2 confirmed acceptances (one 4/9 I don’t remember the other, or others) and 3 confirmed SGR’s (one 4/24, one 4/25, and I don’t remember the other or others) on CC, correct?

Is there a stats thread? If not, someone should make one since people (mainly Dornsife & Viterbi–that we know of) are already getting decisions/SGR’s. I think we should keep track for all those out there who want some sort of timeline to work with for next year (also just for us to know).

So, if someone doesn’t mind making a stats thread and everyone who received something doesn’t mind posting in it, I think it’s a go. What do you guys think?

@bballprofessor23 Nah, you don’t have to have that completed to get in. The only things you will absolutely need to have completed before you would attend USC are the writing and math requirements. No worries man.

@Trojfan131 - My USC adviser told me that if you’re transferring from a University and not a CC, it’s okay if you don’t complete the writing requirement and you would be able to complete it at USC.

@hopeformarshall thx. Thats a great point about the sgr. my spring grades are good, probably all A’s & one or two B’s. i think what might hurt me is being a white female, because i heard they they are looking for diversity. i wonder if i can still send a letter of rec, because i didn’t send any in with my application.

I think being in the military will really differentiate and help you. I don’t know how much being a father and husband will but for sure the military will. With so many applications and so few spots, I think with your stats and military will make u stand out. Hopefully you will hear sooner than later do u live in la already? Fingers crossed.

@Spiffyb0i thx. I think my essays are good, but everyone else’s essays sound really good as well and it seems like a good compelling story to tell. Everyone I talk to who is transferring sounds like they have an amazing application and great stats so… I guess the key thing is how we all standout from that baseline. Good luck where r u transferring from?

I don’t think that being a white female will go against you haha. Majority of the population there are white females. Plus you sound like a really good candidate.

@HopeForMarshall so I have completed all GEs except for one, but I would have only completed Biology not Chem. Isn’t that an understandable trade-off?
