@SCGirl101 What do you mean by they hold our spots? You mean they don’t give them away to freshman/ other transfer applicants?

@uscindian I got a sgr as an incoming junior… So who knows

@Ftgirl yeah it really sucks… I will probably either call or email the office to make sure they know.

@esai23 do you know if they were applying to Marshall? I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Marshall because that’s super competitive.

I’m actually in my second year of college but sophomore standing according to USC

@5nonnegotiables Thank you so much for your help, and wishful thinking
I’m definitely going to have to look into updating my address.

@esai233 Best of luck!

@Spiffyb0i Don’t be I read on another post that they most likely send out SGRs out in batches.

@5nonnegotiables what school are you applying into?

I’m applying into Dornsife

@fightingtitan Well it’s not that, it’s just there are so many competitive applicants who are getting a sgr and I’m a bit paranoid mine will be a rejection that’s all haha. There’s no way in hell I could send in my spring quarter grades though (if requested) since my school ends on June 27th and they want the grades by June 30th. I think I’ll either get flat out rejected or accepted, but I don’t have a 4.0 and because so many people are receiving sgr with a 4.0, I’m getting worried about my status.

@uscindian Dornsife also

With all these SGRs to sophomore standing candidates, my future looks bleak cause I havent gotten an SGR yet. this is too stressful.

@esai23 what are your stats?

I was always under the impression that SGR was basically a slot lower than acceptance and was a “maybe” instead of an outright acceptance with a condition (if this was the case then people with 4.0’s probably wouldn’t get rejected).

@scahopeful we should try to be optimistic about the SGR, I’m hearing that it means you are at least in consideration.

Does everyone who got an SGR have a 4.0?

I don’t

@scahopeful - I haven’t completed the Writing requirement.

My CC GPA was a 4.0. I don’t have a university GPA since it’s my first semester at the university. Perhaps that might be why I got a SGR! They want to see if my grades plummeted after joining a university… (is what I’m thinking)

I’m thinking that everyone with an SGR will be compared against one another to determine who ultimately gets in.

“If candidate A maintains a 4.0, we’ll take him in. If candidate B maintains a 4.0 and if candidate C makes less than a 3.75, we’ll take candidate B; Otherwise, if candidate C maintains a GPA of 3.75+, we’ll take candidate C and reject candidate B regardless of what he makes”.

That’s how I think SGRs work. But that’s purely based off of my opinion, so I could be completely wrong.

Ahh this is my first post and I’m hoping that I get accepted or a SGR soon. My birthday is actually on the deadline that USC says they will tell transfers (June 3), so this could be a great or bad birthday haha.
Is anyone applying to Annenberg?

Anyone get a SGR for econ major ??

Still waiting to hear back from SC, no SGR but I am applying as a junior to Marshall

Do we have any psych majors on this tread? if so would you mind putting stats up and whether or not you have received an SGR???

any out of state incoming juniors applying as an econ major? we should compare stats and stuff!

@uscindian I said that. It pretty much means you are a “maybe” which is a heck of a lot better than a “rejected”. I just don’t think it means you’re outright accepted because if that’s the case why wouldn’t they just tell you that instead of going through the trouble of submitting more materials?

I think it’s awesome when people get SGR’d. It means there’s still a chance of acceptance!

@esai23 makes sense to me!
